A Dealer s Location - how important is it

How important has it been to you folks about the location of the dealer you purchased your tractor from. My delima is that a distant dealer has a very good price compared to any local dealer near me (southern New Hampshire). Has anyone purchased form a distant dealer and had problems getting service from a local dealer? Is there much trouble with Kubota dealers having a "if you didn't buy it here, don't bring it here" attitude for warranty/service work? Price difference is over $1,500.
