 Question for beagle

Hello all this is my first post on this board.
Beagle, How hard was it to install the B2910 rear fender onto your 7800 and do you think those fenders are still around ? Does the fender have some kind of number incrementation for the control lever ?
I'm in the final stages of having Kubota buy back my B3030. The deal works this way, They will give me back my full purchase price. If I then decide to, I can purchase a B7800 and Kubota will install, free of charge a control valve in place of the quarter inching system for the 3 pt. hitch. They claim that this is an easy conversion, but the dealers I've talked to have never done this before. One of my concerns is how the control lever will can be preset while moving.
Thanks John

 Question for beagle

The 7800 and the 2910 are the "same" tractor, with some economizing done to the 7800. All of the 2910 parts we have, (headlights, rear fender, rear side panels, seat arm rests, etc. )fit exactly onto the 7800. Most of the parts were purchased from the Tractorsmart site. The first thing we did was get a 2910 parts manual, then ordered the 2910 parts after checking the assembly diagrams between the 7800 parts manual and the 2910 parts manual. The parts manuals are also available from Tractorsmart. The rear side panels would not interfere in any way with the position control lever, but you may need to look into a rear fender. The 2910 and 7800 have different part numbers for the right rear fender assembly. The position control lever will probably not work with the 7800 right fender.

The one conversion we have not attempted is the position control valve. Looking at the parts manuals convinced me it would be cost prohibitive. If your dealer is willing to do the conversion, with warranty, I would definitely do it. The only weakness of our "7810" is the lack of position control. The change out was too extensive.

The consmetic change outs (fender covers, rear fender, etc. )were easily done, as everything fit perfectly.

We have the 40amp alternator conversion kit on order, expect it in next week. I'll let you know how well that goes together.

 Question for beagle

Thanks for the quick reply beagle. Would you please answer two more questions for me.
Are there numbers stenceled along side the slot that the control lever goes through on the 2910 fender so that a person can have some kind of reference ?
Do you know if the slots are the same length on the 7800 & the 2910 fenders ? I'm thinking about the the slot length on the 7800 not being long enough for a full up or down throw of the lever to fully raise or lower the implement
Again thank you John

 Question for beagle

From the part number references, and the 1/4" valve stops on the 7800 fender, I would say the two fenders are probably different in some way. The hydraulic set up for the two valves is completely different. The position control valve works similar to a steering valve, while the 1/4" valve is basically a flow control valve. The lever action is different for both.

If your dealer is doing the set-up, he will know if the fender needs to be changed out, along with the hydraulics. The two fenders carry different part numbers. That's as far as I got into it.

The other thing we did was spend some time looking at the two machines side by side. Might be something you want to do.
