 B2910 vs B7800 price

I am new to the board.

Have settled on buying a Kubota and will get either a B7800 or a B2910.

Any recommendations from someone who has gone through the same thought process?

Here is the best price I have found so far

B2910 w LA 402 FEL (60" bucket), 60" mid mount mower, industrial tires, and foldable ROPS - $17740.

B7800 with same set up was $16400

For the extra $1340 I am inclined to go with the B2910.

Any comments on the price or the B2910 vs the B7800 would be appreciated.

Dale

 B2910 vs B7800 price

I've got a B7800 equipped almost per your specs - only difference is I have a 72"MMM. While I did compare the B7800 to equivalent JD and NH tractors, I confess that I did not really look into the 2910.
The 2910, I'm pretty sure, has cruise control, which for for my application would be handy. I have around 6 acres of fininsh mowing, and it does get a little tiresome holding down the hst petal all the time. I believe the 2910 also has a better seat, I can't comment on this other than to say that my back is still in pretty good shape after a couple hours in the saddle of my 7800. The 2910 also has telescoping 3PH links, This may or may not be beneficial. I have an equipment shed with a concrete floor which simplifies hooking up 3PH equipment. You can just grab the tire and move the tractor fwd or aft in order to hook up equipment, the telescoping links really are not necessary. If you're hooking to implements out in the woods/pasture, I know from experience that the telescoping links can be a big help. The only other difference that I am aware of is the rear mounted remote hydraulic hookups on the 2910, either you need these or you don't. I have a larger tractor with remote hydraulics, so I have not missed having this feature on my B7800.
One parting comment: If you have very much mowing to do, consider the 72"MMM. I love mine, it allows you to mow close to tress, around flower beds, etc. The tractor will pull the 6' mower with ease, I've cut 3 - 4 ft grass with mine, with no problems at all.

Appreciate the great feedback. Looks like I will go with the L3430 with LA723 loader as the dealer gave me a great deal on it.

Thanks again.

Dale, I'm looking to buy a 2910 as well. Could you tell me who gave you the quote for the tractor? Frank

Frank,

It was Schaeperkoetter Implement Company in Mount Sterling, MO (near Jefferson City). There are 2 salesmen there. Both are named Brian. Good company...straight shooters and they provide a very fair price without any haggling. You may want to check this week as I think the 0% financing and some of the incentives end on 31 Aug.

Best of luck.

Dale

Dealer here in Oregon said the 0% for 3 yrs was (will be) continued through September. Said Kubota has been extending it a month at a time for a while.

I bought my B7800 in late June as the 0% deal was set to end on 6-31. Seems like Kubota keeps extending the 0% deal every month, sooner or later they're going to pull the plug though. If you are serious about buying, and can find the machine you are looking for in stock, go ahead and go for it!

Well, I started out looking at the B7800, then the B2910, then the L343o and then finally ended up buying a L3830. I went with the GST with industrial tires. The dealer cut off an additional $500 for taking one in stock. I ended up paying $19200 for the L3830 with GST, LA753 quick attach loader and filled rear tires. Figured I would be happier going bigger rather than going too small.

I have a 2910 I am selling with the loader, R4 tires, 92 hours. Just had the 100 hour checkup by the dealer and will sell for $14,250. I am selling because I just purchased a 3130. I can send pictures if interested.
Please let me know if you are interested.
