I just purchased a JD 4700 4wd with a 460 FEL, 370 hrs and power reverse. Can anyone give me the low down on a 4700?
Gave 17500 - hope that wasn't too much.
It seems to do great so far, a lot better than my Ford 1910 4wd.
Thanks in advance for any info on this tractor/loader.

Mike1819: I don't keep up too well on prices, but that doesn't seem bad at all. With 360 hrs. you should have many years of service left in the 4700. I'm not sure how Deere breaks down the frame sizes in their in the compact series now that the 20 series has came along, but your 4700 would be the large frame tractor, from the 4400 down were mid frame and I don't remember where they went to small frame. Last time I checked a well equiped 4410 was over 20K list and you have lots more tractor than a 4410. I think you did fine especialy with the loader included. Frank. ....

Mike1819, If it's in good condition thats a very good price. New- the tractor would run about $21,000 and the 460 loader is about $3,900 . I have a 4700 and love it.

Actually the 4700 looked like a brand new tractor. The bottom of the bucket was the only place the paint was scratched.
The previous owner only used it to bush hog a field. ....

Mike, the 48 hoe works very well with the 4700. I put a Hydraulic thumb on the hoe and don't know how I lived without it before:)
