Does anyone know when you start a JD 4200-4500 tractor do you need to time the glow plugs before you start or is there a light that will let you know when they are ready? Times should vary depending on the temp.

The intake air heater is only used when the outside temp is below 40F. Then, just push in on the starter key for 10 to 15 seconds for temps between 40 and 0 F. Below zero, move to a warmer climate! ....
