4300 gear transmission

Has anyone with a 4300 gear or sync. rev transmission done the 50 hour rockshaft filter screen service yet. If so what did you find? Heard of some problems on hydro. models. Screens either becoming torn or dislodged. Thinking of upgrading to new filter.

I've heard that some JD's have a screen in a 3hp line that (which and where I don't know) that can become dislodged and cause an obstruction. I seem to recall that JD came up with an upgrade for the original part. ....

All 4200-4400 tractors use the same screen regardless of transmission type. The problem you mention was corrected by Deere and your dealer should have a service bulletin or similar communication giving more details. As I understand it, this was a limited problem and Deere has identified the affected serial numbers. ....
