Please Welcome hoosiervette to TractorPoint. From: Bluffton, Indiana. Interests: Driving and working on Corvette.. Equipment: 1999 John Deere 4300 Compact Utility Tractor w/72" Mid-Mount Mower and Grader Box.. Property: 4.35 Acres w/Acre Pond.

fuel guage doen't work on my JD4300 COMPACT UTILITY TRACTOR, anything I should look for before jumping to the conclusion it's either the sending unit or the guage cluster, which a local dealer said it would cost me around $500.00?

Two issues I thought maybe you all have experienced and may be able to help me out with on my 1999 JD4300 with 72" mid-mounted mower.

1. Fuel guage don't work, what is commonly the problem assuming on my own either the guage which requires me to buy the whole instrument panel, around $500.00 or sending unit; is there anything else I should look at first?
2. Smoking/foggy at the bottom section looking guages dash cluster, what's up with this ....
