Price and info on JD 755

I am looking at a 1987 JD 755 with a 60" deck. This unit has 1600 hrs. and is 2WD. It has terra tires on the back. I intend to use it primarily for mowing plus some light tilling and snow removal When it is running there is a small amount of black smoke coming out what looks like a crankcase vent tube. Is this a concern?They are asking $6700. Is this a fair price?

I think it might be fair if the black smoke question is resolved to your satisfaction. But I think you could pay less or the same for a better one if you keep looking.
