My JD dealer tells me that with JD financing comes tractor insurance for a nominal cost ($100.) This insurance is for the life of the loan. Is it for the payoff balance or the original loan amount? Dealer says it is for original loan amount, but sounds to good. Any information?

I was quoted a price of about $10 per month but it was not through JD. Since I use the tractor to help maintain my home, I was able to add it to my homeowner's policy for no charge. You cannot have any commercial use of the tractor to do this, however. ....

John. John Deere offers physical damage insurance that covers your tractor for the full purchase price. The reason the dealer arrived at an even $100 premium is that JD insurance recently changed their premium policy to a minimum $100 premium. If you'd bought it a few months ago, it would of only been pennies a month. :) It's still a good deal at $100 though. I always offer it to customers as it is nearly impossible to beat. Dealers do not make anything on the added insurance policies. It's just a nice option offered by Deere.

We just bought an additional insurance rider from Farm Bureau for our JD790. The agent said the standard HO policy did not cover it away from the home or during transport. It cost $96 for a 15k policy. ....
