Rebuild specs

Need help with specs for valve settings and clutch set up info for pre 11000 1050 (1981). With the latest Arkansas Ice storm, I decided to do the right thing and finally do what has been needed. Clutches need to be replaced and Deere wants around $250 for each plate....ouch. We have a good brake and clutch service here and why couldn't I have these clutches resurfaced like they did my brakes???? Does anyone have any experience with this or am I the only cheap skate that thinks Deere parts are way to expensive?Any help with a site that lists specs or the valve settings would be greatly appreciated.Happy new year to all, John Camponovo in Central Arkansas
