I have a 1978 Case 680 ck backhoe with hardly any brakes. Can someone tell me what's involved, and any inherent problems with the brakes on these machines.

I couldn't get the link to work. My buddy has 580 and he says the disc brakes are undersized and costly to replace, not to mention that they are difficult to get to to work on. I'm not familiar with it myself. ....

I don't have one here to look at but they are either in the drive axle or on a jackshaft near it. If in the axle they would be more costly to repair in labor then if off an alternative shaft. ....

so, I guess I'll have to live without brakes. I was hoping there was someway to adjust brakes without tearing machine down. ....
