hey guys my neighbor has a 525 that the hydraulics will raise but you have to turn the tractor off for them to lower. can you help. also the resevoir for the hydraulic oil says use motor oil only. what does he need to use??????

Had a 525 indestrutable machine. They were designed for hard rugged use, in the middle of nowhere, that is why you use motor oil and they are maintenance friendly for the novice. Sounds like the spool is hanging up when you release the lever, needs cleaning, also the oil changed along with the filter for the hydrolics. ....

I think you are right spool or lever hanging up I do know that the 500 hydraulic valves leak like heck until i replaced all and i mean all the O-rings ....
