Does the dealer operate out of a truck or something ? I woud stay away from that dealer/tractor.

I used to work for a Japenese company that did all you said about getting free infrastructure,property tax breaks, etc. It was in NC and they bought most of their materials from their home company in Japan at very high prices ensuring that they would show no profit in the US, so NO taxes. It was just a way to dump in the US and funnel profits ( US dollars) back to Japan. Our gummit supports this practice because of the campaign donations,etc...

You are correct, for field work/tillage heavier is better with all other things being equal. I do not have any personal hands on experience on the Mahindra tractors, but have heard good things about them. I have an IH 2444 40 HP PTO, same basic chassis I think but one step down in HP. This should be a good tractor, but at 35 hp is sort of an entry level for some of the work you described. If you get into any serious tillage, baleing and stuff like that I would go up at least 10 HP or so.

I am assuming you have a dealer nearby and can check out out what you are buying. My only concern about these series of tractors might be the brakes. I see they are dry disc, same as my IH2444. Mine are a bit weak as I understand that all of this IH series is, not bad just not the greatest brakes in the world. Mahindra might have made them better than the IH they copied though.

What did you not like about the Kioti DK tractors ? They seem to be good tractors and heavier than most of their comparable competition.

You could be looking at 2 different methods of hour measurement. If you have the engine RPM/tach type they are cable driven (mechanical) and will not advance without the engine running. If you hour meter is purely electrical in operation it will advance as long as the key is on, and does not depend on RPM or anything, it is an ignition on timer.

This is not news. They have been doing it for years. They just have better tools now. Privacy is non existant, especially since the homeland security act.

Murf, Arey you saying that all lawbreakers should be caught and punished ? If so what about the old folks and such that put their prescription medicines in daily dispensers. They are all guilty of a felony and could be fined and spend jail time.
Of course that could do away with the AARP lobbiests that pester the gummit, as all of their members would lose their right to vote.

The laws are there to put us all in jail if fully enforced. The surveillance is the next step in establishing a police state. This has been a common pattern thru history. I may be a bit paranoid, but I may be right too.

Considering the money situation, you might want to look around for a used 40 hp or so utility tractor, not necessarialy 4WD.
You can quite often find a good used IH/Massey/Ford/JD with loader for well under 10K. Probably about 5K.

Lead acid batteries give of fumes when charging that WILL corrode nearby metals. Unless these fumes can be properly vented away they WILL cause problems. I personally feel it is stupid to put them next to an expensive radiatior. Of course the manufacturer does sell more radiators, so it is good for them.

I am with Murf on this one. Also isn't there an electric fuel shut off solenoid ? It it looses power the engine will shut off. Not sure on that particular model it is a general thing though.

I have never balanced them but know of 2 ways that will work. Weigh them and compare the weights, or make a simple balance beam and hang one on each end. Simply grind some more off of the one that goes down until they hang level or close to level.
