Have you changed the fuel filter and bled the injectors ? Not sure of the procedure on this model.

Not sure with 8 acres of lawn, thats a lot of mowin. What do you mean by lot preperation ? Digging footer ? Basement ? And what is the ground like there ? The little CUT's are very handy but if you have a lot of digging to do and or the soil is rocky and hard you might want to consider renting an excavator or larger backhoe unit. Especially if this is a one time useage thing.

How old is the battery ? It could be the battery. Have you read the battery voltage with a volt meter ? You can get one at radio shack for about 20.00, and will find many uses for it over the years. If the battery charging voltage is high then it is the voltage regulator since you had the alternator checked out.

I agree usually a bearing, probably in a blade quill/spindle or gearbox. Have you greased it, grease one thing at a time use it a bit and see if the noise goes away or changes.

I keep hearing about the sorry attitudes of John Deere dealers. I know they are not all this way, so if you represent a Deere dealer and are not this way...PLEASE take no offense. However if you represent this poor attitude, just look back at IBM's history. They had the we are God attitude, we do not listen the customer, we sell them what we WE want to sell them... well they seem to have fallen from grace a LOT. Same with other corporations with the same attitude. Employees with bad attitudes can drag down a large corporation, it just takes longer if they are really big.

I a dealer treats you like dirt, do not deal with them ( Brand does not matter ). This is how we consumers speak.

Thanks for the info, I understand the principle I used to keep tropical fish and many of the filters, etc work by the same principle. I just had not thought to use on a large scale I guess.

Hey guys isn't the grey market tractor thing contrary to the free market competition thingy attitude that we Americans seem to be proud of ? It seems very anti competitive to me and just serves a couple of tractor companies, not the American consumers.
I mean after all they are all imports, it is not like we are protecting American manufacturing jobs or anything like that. Just seem to be protecting the profits for a couple of tractor companies.

Front PTO's are usually used for FEL pumps if the FEL has its own pump. Most FEL's hook up to the existing system though.

Teeth on the bucket helps the digging ability a lot.
But you won't do as pretty of a job smoothing with them on there.
