Had a nice Christmas but not box scraper. The item under the tree was not what I thought it would be, yes it was green color as jd but take a look at the attached photo. It is a trike for my granddauther.

Thanks your posted helps me get a better idea. Another friend of mine in Hannibal said try putting a nut on each side of the turn buckle to keep them from backing off. Would this work or would it cause damage.

Gearing up for xmas, I think I might be getting a box scraper, there is a funny looking heavy and large package under the tree that is green. I just can not figure how she got it in the house and up the steps.

I have had my 4110 now for about 3 to 4 months, and love it. The FEL is a brezze to take off and put on. I would say I do it in about 4 to 5 mins at the most. I have one little bracket on front that is safty item I guess that adds one more step than my old 455 had. The hose hook up and the latch system is great. Supper. You will love it. Just an after thought I have a 12 ft. trailer and I get my tactor and bucket and real blade on it by going up backwards and hanging the blade off the front of the trail. but I am going to step up to a 16 footer. 12 is too small. Buy the rops, I took out my garage door one day when I forgot to watch out for the height. Of course I had folding rops to begain with, so what the ))(*. My fault. I love the rops now that I put a big sign up on the header of my garage ( are your rops down) I figure a sign up over head for a year should get me in to the habbit of lowing them.

Well kind of a funny story with an added lesson:<br>

I have had a 4110 now for about 6 weeks. Before that I had a 455 which fit in my garage height wise with no problem. Now the 4110 does too if I put the rop down. Well about 3 weeks ago my cable to my garage door opener cable snapped. 2 weeks ago I was going in the garage and for got to put the rop down. Cash I tore off the casing broke the glass out and a few other nice things got wacked out of alignment. One would think it would be a lesson learned.<br>

Well this week I did it again and this time hard enough to push the top panel off the tack. Now with no cable to keep the door up it was too heavy to keep up on its own so this is where the tractor and its buck came into play. I raised the door with the bucket and used it to hold it there while I replaced the top door. So you see you have to be careful but once you have found trouble a person can turn to the trusty tractor to help you fix the problem. <br>

Well beggers cannot harp abouta freebee. The dealer just tossed it in the mix with the bid for free. I beat you are right about a new box would be i match but I do not want to push my luck and his gift. Thanks for your help. Maybe you can tell me on the I match equ. it seems to have a bushing or rollers. Should I get those from the dealer or have the welding shop come up with thier own parts.

Good question, this was on a trade in on a 4110 jd with a bucket and back blade. So you bring up a good point ( I think) Had I not had a trade in would he of come down on the price of the tractor more. I just had a 500 off the list price on the tractor and he tossed in the rear ballist box and a few hundred off the bucket. I l figured the whole rig was worth 6,000 so I did not kick about pricing on the other end. Its kinda of like which came 1st the chicken or the egg.

I had a 455 for 4 years with bucket, never had to worry about my bucket and weight in the back 100 pds or so. I have the 4110 now for about a week, love it. I took off the rear blade tonight and was moving some cut fire wood. dug into a big pile and lifted a bunch of wood and off the ground the wheels came. realy just one becasue I was at an angle. So it is very true to put enought weight on the back. A small job can run into a big job when it comes to lifting stuff. I thought I was going to just move a few logs in a bit but I got a full bucket. I was lucky and learned a good leason. So all of us new to this great tractor please respect it too. <br>

Way to go witht he 4110. I got mine last fri. and could not belive the work it did for me. Cleared 200 or 300 ft road of mud from the Mississipppi flood, brought up gravel made the road level again pulled two stumps (old and soft), Tonight I am using the bucket to carry off a tree that fail in a storm and will use it to pull the trunk out of the next door neighbor yard. You will love it and be in awe of what it will do.

Got my 4110 Fri. Went to my river camp and graded my road. It brought up all the gravel after removing my dirt a few weeks ago with a kobota (sp) 2910. To tell the truth I liked the other tractor but my deere was the right choice for me. It took off the berms on the road with ease. I even pulled out a few tree stumps 18 inch around. Grainted they were old and the roots were old but the ground still have a good hold on them. Pulled out some large rocks out of an old time level that is not used any more but kept me from mowing. <br>
All in all this baby did what I asked of it.<br>
I have a question of slop that is safe to mow on. How do I post a photo. I have looked around and can not figure it out. I would like to post the shot of my back little yard and the slope to see what the kind folks here think.<br>

Thanks for the post. Funny the color comment had been sent to me from a friend that thinks green is not the choice too. We have a fun battle going on. Buckets at head to head at sundown. I learned the hard way of having a too small of a truck when pulling a large boat with a Ford Ranger and the gears fell out on the street. So now I have a v8 Dodge, I know wrong color.
(brand) But we work with what we have.
I think I am going to check out the elec. breaks and a strong gate to drive on. Why cut coners.

Hello to all those that have posted on this string. Thank you for your answers over the last few days. I think I know understand better the question of lifting. The last few post were good about break out force. Which I checked before bying the 4110. I had a 455 which had a very low break out forch and why I have steeped up to the 4110. So this leads me to another question.
On flat ground with grass cover clay and some black loom will I be able to bust the ground and shave off the top ground to about 6" to a 1 foot with out hitting it over over like I did my my 455.
I am waiting to pick up this baby the deck still has not come in to the dealer it has been 8 days now. I a m going nuts.

Glad you like your r1, I too went from low tread to r1 on my jd455 4 years ago. I have a question for you off beat of what you were talking about. I just order a 4110 and will be ready to pick up on Monday. I do a lot of loader work. How did you find your 2210 with bucket work have you tried to dig up undisturbed earth with grass in it. I found my old 455 was not real great at breaking up soil. Had to work at it very hard. Was just wonder what you found compairing your old tractor with your 2210 and if I will find much of a change.

Ok I am trying to get my house in order for the day when my tractor is to be picked up. Monday I hope. It is a JD 4110. I now have a JD455. I have a 15 ft trailer with dual axles. My question is will my drop down ramp hold the extra weight of the 4110. The gate is made of 3/8 angle iron, 3 rungs going with the length and box frame around that on extruded metal as the flooring. The hinge is about � inch rod running the width. I know the trailer can handle the extra load but what about the gate that is my ramp. I will also have the 410 loader and some times my rear blade. I know all three will not be able to fit on the trailer because of the length. Thanks for your help. <br>

I know the 2910 is a biger tactor, but I used one this weekend. I am sold on the 4110 jd but was wondering if any one had used both and if so how close would the 4110 be to the 2910 in power and lift.<br>

as luck would have it the 4110 ten was not at the store today he had taken it home. It was gear any way and I want hydo, So I will wait until Monday to order and I think I am going the 4110.
