I had the same question when I was doing the 50 hour service on my L3830. I had to call three dealers before I received a realistic answer.(Someone finally went and looked at another tractor.) I could see three plugs - the main plug in the rear and one in each final drive. The other was a plug that utlizes an allen (hex) wrench. After I went through all the calls and questions there wasn't any fluid left where the hex plug was located.

I agree in part what you are saying Art White. However, it is a case of customer service. If you don't know the answer be willing to ask someone who does know, look up the answer or contact the manufacturer in order to respond to the customer.

I checked out the tufftop web site. How long has this tractor canopy been around? Does it tend to deteriorate after it has been in the sun a lot?

It is time for the 50 hour service on my L3830 HST. Where are the hydraulic and transmission filters located on the tractor? I have two filters that cost a lot of money but which one is which? How do I shut off the 50 hour light on the Intell Panel? I was at a Farm Show today and I asked these questions to two different Kubota representatives and they couldn't answer. This is typical of my experience with Kubota. I think Kubota has good products but the company loses business because of the weak support.

With my previous tractors I always did what you suggested Art White. However, I did the same with the L3830 but it didn't have the same results. In the past I knew what to do when the pressure had built up in the cylinders but since the Kubota setup is backwards to my precious experience and opposite to the New Hollands and John Deeres that I looked at this morning I am thinking I need to get rid of the Kubota.

I bought my Grand L tractor in early October 2004. I financed it through Kubota Credit. They were suppose to send me information acknowledging the contract and providing me payment coupons. I didn't hear but the time was getting close to when the first payment was due. I checked with Kubota and was told the letter was in the mail. However, they stated they were so busy and the letter got delayed. I finally had to send a payment through the dealer and still nothing. I finally got a letter dated after the due date indicating the payment due date. The letter was dated after they said it was in the mail. Another time they hadn't processed my check. They again said they were so busy. I take that as an indicator when I have a real serious problem they will indicate they are so busy. I am accustom to working with a company where the customer is important.

My wife is really mad at me because I won't go on a trip to Sweden and Norway this summer with her and her sisters and husbands. I have absolutely no interest in going especially for over three weeks. There are a lot of places in the good old "USA" I would rather visit. I was in the Air Force for over 26 years. When we came back from Hawaii in 1981 my wife swore off flying. I have suggested over the years to fly somewhere, but she absolutely refused. However, when her sisters suggest going to the Scandinavian countries she is ready to go. For some reason they think it needs to last over three weeks. It smacks of "Parkinson Law". The trip expands to the time alotted.<br>
Any suggestions as to how I can solve this dilemma? My wife and sisters are very poorly organized and it takes them three times as long to get started and get something done.

I was plowing snow this morning and I realized how worthless the standard lights are on my Kubota L3830. I was using a back blade and the red tail lights don't help a bit. Also, I had to put the bucket up so the headlights would be useful. Why doesn't the tractor come with work lights? What is the maximum amount of auxiliary lighting I can put on the tractor? Is it possible to put on lights that don't look like a "shade tree mechanic" did the work? Is it best that I install a canopy first before the lights are installed?

Does anyone know if there is a place where I can buy a 6 volt battery pack for jump starting. I know that a 12 volt battery pack is available, but I want a 6 volt for starting some of my old tractors when they need a little help which seems to be quite often.

I had noticed the paint problem at a local dealer. After doing some research with the Buhler Company, I discovered the mowers at the local dealer were 2000 models and had been setting outside for 4 1/2 years. Unfortunately, the dealer didn't give me all the information.

I am looking for some type of a weather brake for my Kubota L3830 with a factory loader. I didn't want a factory cab when I bought the tractor but I would like to find some type of protection when I am moving snow in the north country. I want a weather brake that would fit neatly around the factory joy stick and the engine compartment and have side entry. Any ideas?

I have a new Kubota L3830 with two hours on it, however, every time I park it there are small drips below the tractor. Is this a common problem? I have a bunch of 50+ year old tractors that does some of this but I wouldn't expect it out of a new tractor.

I am trying to decide about a finishing mower. I want a 72" but I can't decide on a side discharge or a rear discharge. I heard that a rear discharge may streak if the grass is too long and a side discharge may windrow. Also what brand? I am looking for a brand that is rugged and the cutting height is easily changed. I have looked at King Kutter that is a lot cheaper than a Bush Hog, Woods and Land Pride. I need advice. Is this a good time to buy? Are there any special now?

I am wondering what would be an appropriate size of a back blade for a L3830 to mainly push snow? I was talking with a dealer today that said I could use my 8 ft Land Pride on a L3830 but I thought that would be too big. Thoughts and suggestions please.

I am considering buying either a Kubota or John Deere compact tractor. One of the tractors I am considering is the 990. What are the good and bad point about it? I can probably buy a Kubota with hydro for about the same money as a John Deere 990. However, I am looking for something that is rugged to plow some snow and mow some grass with a finishing mower. What is your advice?
