Depending on the type of clamp depends on the type of tool. CV style clamps that are used mainly on axle shafts I use strait cutters and use judgement as too not cut the band.

They have a "PLASTIC" cam gear that at about 100 hr shears teeth. Luckily it is a non interference engine.

This is the wrong place to post thins but I'll answer your question any way.

You have worn engagement dogs on your gears. What that is is four bosses that come off the back of the gear and is engaged by the following gear in four holes of that gear. These dogs are supposed to be strait and square when the get rounded the fail to hold under a load. This usually happens from operator error.

I was thinking about this one for a while and some thing is bothering me a little. The switch under the seat is only a two wire switch that is normally open. It has 12vdc going in and when you sit on the seat the switch closes and you get 12vdc coming out. They also have corrugated plastic sheathing on them up until about 1/2" to the switch. So how did the seat catch on fire. The wires are only maybe 16awg. IF one shorted out on the frame or some where else. IF for some unknown reason the fuses failed to blow. It would take a LONG LONG time for that small of a wire to get hot enough to burn. The copper in the wire would melt apart and at that point the circuit would be broken essentially stopping the tractor in its tracks. If this DID happen and you did not smell it before that point you have a serious problem and should be seen by a doctor. So there has got to be some thing else behind this, what it is we may never know.

I am not exactly sure how your machine is set up but on most there is a check valve that closes when the pump is not running to keep the lines primed when the engine is shut off. It sounds like that may be your problem.

Seems to me that your parking brake switch is not making contact. If the brake is set tractor in neutral and PTO off, you should be able to get off the tractor with it running. When you set the brake does the light on the dash come on? Is the orange PTO indicator light on all the time or just when you turn the PTO on?

There are to many what ifs to disconnect the ops. I would never recommend you do that. I would recommend you try to find out why it is shutting off if you are doing the above steps before you get off the tractor.

Check to make sure that you have enough tension, and that you do not have a bent pulley, or failing spindle bearing, grass build up under the shields? Also belt wear could cause it to come off but more likely it is one of the other items mentioned.
