I own a NH (24hp) and a Kubota (30hp/FEL & Backhoe). But as for your choice of the little sub-compact BX Kubota, I don't think NH makes a similar size machine. Massey has a mini-diesel, on a sub-compact frame, but that is the only other SUB-compact I know of. B.T.W. I like my NH better than my Kubota.

I bought the factory light and installed it in about 10 minutes last evening. The hardest part of the install was loosening the bolt on the ROPS base to place the light bracket. Wiring was a snap, the tractor had a factory wire for the utility light terminated 3" away from the base of the ROPS where the light mounts.

Bountyhunter: Why don't you just call Ted at Corriher instead of messing with email? I wonder if you have the right email, etc? You will get a better feel for the dealer if you actually talk to him.

I am considering buying a 3pt cement mixer and it requires a rear hydraulic port, which is optional on my tractor. I currently do not have one and am wondering if anyone knows a price for installing it on a NH TC24D?

Murf, I think it would be the actual frame of the FEL that would be ideal to mount to, however I don't have an FEL on the TC24D so I consequently don't have the frame to mount to. Maybe I misstated it the way I previously posted.

The point is to flex a bit before they break or dent. They are used on GMC medium duty trucks as well. Our repair bills on our fleet have gone down since they switched a few years back. I like the fenders on my TC24D for the very same reason.

Too bad your local dealer would not come down. The TC30 is a GREAT tractor. But you could have shipped it in and your local dealer would have serviced it for you. In fact, he MUST SERVICE IT if he wants to keep his dealership, it is part of the NH dealership agreement!

How much work, and what type of work will you do with the FEL? If you are moving simple things, keeping the tractor out of the rough stuff, then you can leave the MMM on while you work the FEL. BUT . . . IF you are doing some "real" work with the FEL you will probably be in places where you will destroy the MMM or be forced to remove it, and that is a pain.

Assume 5hp for every foot of blade for typical mowing. If you keep it short and mow when it is dry, you can get by with 3-to-4hp/foot. But if it gets tall and or wet then you need 6-to-7hp per foot of blade. If your tractor is 30hp, then a 6' deck is about right. You could go 7, but don't let the grass get too tall or mow when wet.

A used second machine can come in handy and you can sell it for close to what you paid when you're done with it. I have a TC24D HST for mowing, ditch work, etc. I have a Kubota B2910 with FEL & backhoe for bigger stuff. Some tasks it comes in handy to have 2 machines on site. A TC40 is too big if you pick up a Case combo unit, consider a 24 or similar for the lighter work.

Considering TC40D w FEL and backhoe - why not used backhoe

Did you call Corriher Equipment? They have the BEST prices on NH and after I mentioned them my local dealer's price dropped like a rock! Also, look at another brand of blower, you'd be surprised how much prices vary from brand to brand.

I think I'll try the chain trick. My land is full of dips, hills and uneven ground so even going slow I get bounce the drill point on the ground during transport.

How much time will be spent mowing versus how much time will be spent doing other things?

If you are mowing 90% of the time then you don't have to worry about the time you spend installing and removing the deck because it will almost always be on the tractor. On the other hand, if you have to remove the MMM every week, or even every other week to do something else, then you might want to consider a rear mount unit.

I mow 70% of the time with my TC24D, tending about 5 or 6 acres of grass with a rear mount mower. We have 11+ total, some lightly wooded, some heavy woods and some grass. The biggest problem is NOT the manuverability of the tractor (granted a TC24 is smaller than a TC40 and turns better) but it is the fact that the ROPS hits the smaller trees!

But at 70% of the time with a mower, I am changing implements every week or two and I would not want to mess with a mid-mount mower that often. The 3pt allows me to do some blade work and quickly with minimal cussing or bloody knuckles switch back to the mower in literally a few minutes.

ASK YOURSELF how often you will be switching implements and let that be the guide. More than once a month . . . go with the rear mower.

No! I co-purchased a 30hp Kubota/FEL/Back Hoe with 2 neighbors, only the 3 of us use it and when asked we say we can't lend it because the other partners won't allow it. I also own a NH CT24D and will not lend it. Tractors cost to much and get abused by novices & neighbors.

Isn't the 4110 a little light in the 3pt lift capacity? IF I recall, only about 700lbs at 12" behind the 3pt? The NH and Kubota are both about 1200lbs capacity. If chuckles is pulling a large mower deck the 3pt capacity may become an issue with the 4110.

Thanks Mark, I just ordered one of their blades, and from what I've seen, these are the best designed blades on the market. I looked up their "links" page and ordered from Corriher. I particularily like the offset feature using pins for quick adjustment.

I put in a 2nd panel and moved "critical" circuits to that panel. I have a natural gas generator, not PTO powered, rated at 9000 watts. We lost power for 7 days due to ice storm - needed a tractor to dig out and still wanted a warm house, TV, water, microwave + lights.

Is there any difference between brands of "Quick Hitches" I saw TSC has Cat 1 units for $169, NorthernTool is $199 + $50 shipping, I'm guessing but I suspect LandPride's over $200. I switch between a finish mower, a scraper blade and a box blade. Any recommendations?

My local dealer was the same price as Corriher, but not on my first call. Corriher gave me a bottom price right off the bat. I got a TC24D for 11,650 delivered with a full tank of gas. I bought implements from Corriher because they blew my local dealer away on price + quality. Kubota was $1270 more expensive!!!
