thanks for the thoughts. I have the ability to get a new Wallenstein for $2300 delivered or a Woods 5000 for $2200. The wallenstein has no shredder but is a heavy 850 lb unit. Just want to know if I will need the shredder. Most of the larger units do not have a shredder.

I think that one of the more overpriced, and technologically straightforward would be a PTO leafblower.

I am working on my barn plans. My intention is to have a 30 x 50 barn. I would like to have a loft over half of it, with sufficient height to put an office. Since I would like to have 10 ft on the base level and preferably an 8 ft knee wall on the level with the loft that would suggest an 18 ft sidewall height. I would like to have a clear span with no interior poles. So ... Trusses would reduce loft height. I was thinking about a steel frame. Has anyone gone this route? Any sense for the cost difference?

An update, after much consideration and deliberation I couldn't justify the 6,700 price for the 758C when I can get a used Case 580D Extendahoe with multiple buckets and complete cap with heater for 11,500 for which I know the last 10 years of mechanical history. I can always turn around and sell it for close to that and now I will have two machines. Pictures to come.....

I have benefited greatly from the wisdom of this site. I am getting close to making my purchase. I have about 4 acres of finish mowing to be done ( with some trees). The question is 1) How much time / how hard is it to take off a MM mower for the TC40D and 2) Is there any value to SS if you are not using a MM mower and use a RM mower.

Thanks for the input. I have just purchased a used JD455 and while it doesn't currently have a 3 point hitch I was wondering what I could do if it had one. I am most interested in a dirt scoop that I could use for moving material around. I haven't been able to find a site for vassar however.
