I have heard that sometimes quick disconnects suck air but have not had the pleasure of experiencing it first hand.

As KT says, the most common reason for this problem is the rate-of-drop knob positioned under the front of the drivers seat. If that is turned all the way one direction it can keep the 3ph from dropping at all (although it seems maybe a bit unusual for it not to leak down after 9 months).

Anyway, this is the first thing to check if you haven't.

I believe Northern sells Jimna tractors. People have said that Northern provides reasonably good support for the tractors they sell. If you haven't tried contacting them maybe it would be a good thing to do. At the least they should have manuals for the items they have sold. Maybe they can provide one that you can download.

I don't like 'em much but our next Subaru will probably have one. It's an OK transmission for a daily driver commuter car that racks up the mileage but for weekend driving pleasure I'll be driving something with a stick.

It's funny, I drive a 4WD Tacoma and my wife drives an 07 Subaru Impreza. In snow the Impreza is amazing, the Tacoma not so much. Even in 4WD with studded snow tires and a few hundred pounds of sand in the bed the Tacoma isn't even close. Now if the Impreza had more ground clearance it would be perfect. In the next year or so Subaru is supposed to come out with a new Impreza version called the XV Crosstrek with much more ground clearance and we may trade the old one in for one of those.<br>

I never tied the cover down open while driving. However, I have speculated that the problem may have occurred due to the two locks that hold it down. If they are not locked by key whenever the cover is down they work their way open and the cover may well bounce up and down a bit. It never flipped open but I can see it bouncing. The key locks are a PIA and I rarely locked them. Anyway, that is my first and last bed cover.

If nothing else, you need to know where it was originally purchased and see some evidence that it was purchased legally. Unlike cars there is no VIN number tracking but people have bought stolen tractors before only to have the cops show up and confiscate them.

I don't think there are any hard and fast rules other than common sense. Everyone's situation is different. The common sense would be make it strong enough, the further to the rear you push the implement the more leverage there is on the whole hitch assembly so more damage can be done, and the pto shaft may have to be replaced with a longer one depending on implement. It would be best to rig any adapters so they are all in the roughly the same vertical plane as the hitch and are strong enough. On the implement sometimes the pins can be flipped around from outside to inside or vice versa.

In 2008 we bought a new Subaru Impreza and then sold our Highlander to a guy in California who flew up to buy it. I listed the Highlander on eBay, the price didn't meet reserve but the guy had contacted me before the auction ended and had my email address. After auction end he contacted me to arrange a sale at the reserve price and I didn't have to pay the final value fee. Probably got $2k more on the sale than a dealer would give me.

D'oh! In my rant about Honda engines I forgot to mention the splitter. It's a speeco and I really like the splitter, it's the engine that has given me so much trouble.

I also didn't mention the coincidence that all three of my Honda engines are the identical model, GX-390s. Maybe that model is just crap.

I've got a 10" Porter Cable compound miter saw (not sliding) with a laser guide. It will do 6" cuts easy. It's somewhat portable, and lighter than a sliding saw, but not something you want to haul up a ladder to work on scaffolding. The laser guide with two beams that show both edges of the kerf is really a nice feature. I bought a work stand for it too. Takes a bit longer to move and set up that way but it's a lot easier on the back and I'm not getting any younger.
