He loved his job. Driving a train had been his dream ever since he was a child. He loved to make the train go as fast as possible. Unfortunately, one day he was a little too reckless and caused a crash. He made it out, but a single person died. Well, needless to say, he went to court over this incident. He was found guilty, and was sentenced to death by electrocution. When the day of the execution came, he requested a single banana as his last meal. After eating the banana, he was strapped into the electric chair. The switch was flown, sparks flew, and smoke filled the air - but nothing happened. The man was perfectly fine.

Well, at the time, there was an old Bulgarian law that said a failed execution was a sign of divine intervention, so the man was allowed to go free. Somehow, he managed to get his old job back driving the train. Having not learned his lesson at all, he went right back to driving the train with reckless abandon. Once again, he caused a train to crash, this time killing two people. The trial went much the same as the first, resulting in a sentence of execution. For his final meal, the man requested two bananas. After eating the bananas, he was strapped into the electric chair. The switch was thrown, sparks flew, smoke filled the room - and the man was once again unharmed.

Well, this of course meant that he was free to go. And once again, he somehow managed to get his old job back. To what should have been the surprise of no one, he crashed yet another train and killed three people. And so he once again found himself being sentenced to death. On the day of his execution, he requested his final meal: three bananas.

"You know what? No," said the executioner. "I've had it with you and your stupid bananas and walking out of here unharmed. I'm not giving you a thing to eat; we're strapping you in and doing this now." Well, it was against protocol, but the man was strapped in to the electric chair without a last meal. The switch was pulled, sparks flew, smoke filled the room - and the man was still unharmed. The executioner was speechless.

The man looked at the executioner and said, "Oh, the bananas had nothing to do with it. I'm just a bad conductor."

My brother is on Finasteride so he has more hair than I do, I am on Tamulosin. Gotta love that prostate.

So he does dye his hair and it does work for appearances. I just buzz mine myself number 4, no wrap for me.

A neighbor of mine had a 2wd Honda 5518 that he loved except he cursed its lack of traction. I convicced him that 4WD would make all the difference in the world.

He found a dealer that sold Honda yard equipment who took his tractor on consignment and sold it for a commision.

He then bought a Kubota BX 4WD and has been one happy camper for 17 years.

For me infinite speed adjustment with PTO at full speed at all times is critical for opertions like mowing where you need to constantly change speeds.

That said a Gear machine is generally simpler to repair than a Hydraulic based transmission.

The brakes on these tractors are almost never ever used unlike on a car. On a car you are free wheeling and have a ton of weight and speed and heat. On your BX that is not the case.<br>

Forgetting to release the brake is not going to cause you any problems. But do not keep doin it :-(<br>

Wikipedia list WD 40 ingredients as mostly kerosene. In the spec sheet I linked before I did know that low vapor pressure aliphatic hydrocarbon was Kerosene.

45-50 % low vapor pressure aliphatic hydrocarbon (kerosene)
<35% petroleum base oil (non hazardous heavy paraffins)
<25% aliphatic hydrocarbons (same CAS number as the first item, but flammable)
2-3% carbon dioxide (propellant)

Been awhile for me since I did a clutch job, but you will need a clutch alignment tool that looks like a custom made dowel rod to set the disk and clutch properly as you tighten it.

Is th flywheel badly damaged? I guess so, I never had that misfortune, it have to be real bad for me to mess with it. You will need an appropriate puller for you situation.

With all the talk about climate change I was wonder what the pragmatic folks at TP think of all the talk of imminent catastrophe. <br>

The BX is a real authentic Tractor in my book and yes it is sorta a Garden Tractor on Steroids! I like the lower seating position and the ease of getting around stuff and into the garage. Ans more importantly it is a Small Machine with 4WD.

Depends on your needs....

Getting ready for spring I am noticing my tractor vibrates much more than I remember on moderate idle on sharp turns.<br>

Wondering if I have the beginnings of a hydraulic problem. Steering wheel vibrates so much it at this speed 1800 rpms. At full throttle it is much better but vibration is still not right.<br>

Couple more things on the Subaru Boxer now with the ultra thin oil 0W20 weight they had some oil consumption issues. Also some head gasket and ring issues on the 2013 Impreza, supposedly resolved in 2014 models.

If you need to do a valve job the engine has to be removed on Boxer style blocks.

I think the low center of the engine does help with stellar crash ratings.

These are high revving fun engines though!

Kubota manuals are usually pretty good at explaining wheel widening options, on my model they show clearly how to widen the track.

I think the box and back blade and other NON PTO implements are the sweet spot for quick hitches. I think it is hit or mostly miss on PTO rear implements.

And it is a great project in deed. It reminds me of my own tinkering... and project scope creep I always seem to prefer. So I am getting a kick out of it as well as you aptly recap where Paulmo is now building a multi use power pack, when he stated in his earlier thread he had no other use for the hydraulics other than powering his splitter. But he will doubtless find many uses for it in the future aside from the wealth of knowledge he has gained and we have all shared in.<br>

This is all good and it is what I do in most things I start... But humorously I just wanted to poke some fun at how we all expand our needs to grow exponentially beyond our starting points....<br>
