a GST trans has 12 forward and 8 reverse gears and all operate w/o a clutch plus ya don't hafta hold yer foot on the go button for 3 or 4 hours at a time while bushogging or finish mowing JMMHO

put 3 pt hitch lever all the way down and lock it--ctr pt will hold the weight just fine

a tooth bar on that bucket works wonders--that and ag tires were the best mods for my L3130 GST

agree with Dennis on beating up the tractor pulling stumps w/backhoe on a CUT---have been known to spend a day or two on one stump!

thanks for the replys--my outer shaft(1/2 the total length) is 21" and i wound up w/over 9" mated on level ground---am satisified--the finish mower i bought had a little over 3" mated and i thought that's not safe!!!! PTO shafts aren't cheap--$287 plus tax at TSC

talk to WOODS--but if you want the 3 point ya need the lift arms and a heavy duty top link bracket--yer L48 should be able to handle the 1050--JMMHO
