I am the satisfied owner of a L3130HST, now with 396 hours since mid August 2003. The machine has been 100% rock solid so far. Check out my pics and previous posts or for more big (slow on dialup connection) pictures see the link below. Just remember a CUT is not a bulldozer and work slow and safe.<br>

Sometimes rotating equipment is designed to turn in one direction. The threads that fasten the gears and blades might have been specifically cut right or left hand so normal rotation keeps things tight. I'd hate to have a blade fly off or a gear slip on the shaft because the nut loosened up.

I don't know of any CUT to mow (?) rocks firewood and snow.
Seriously, could you post more info about your conditions, like hills, wet/dry soils, is yard just to be mowed or is it 'golf green', how much woods and FEL use versus mowing, etc.
Did you mean move snow etc?
The threads on this forum have a lot of info you might use to get an idea of what to lok for...

I don't own a B7800, but here's some comments.<br>
Measure the center to center rear tread, perhaps your rear wheels can be adjusted to a wider track for more stability. Sometimes the setup is to position the wheels for the minimum track. Also , when you talk to your dealer, see if all the recommended ballast is installed, and that you're using the tractor in the proper configuration and at the proper speed.<br>
I know from experience at first a CUT can seem quite unstable. You sit up high, and once off the level it feels 'real uncomfortable'. As you get more seat time you will be more comfortable and more able to use the machine within its safe range. (This doesn't mean you gotta roll it to find that range!) <br>
Generally, tractors should not be operated on a side slope, rather straight up or down the hill, and in that mode are able to negotiate some steep grades safely, with proper care.<br>

That price seems good to me. I bought a similar machine w/o hoe but snowblower, 7' rake, and PHD for about the same money last summer. I believe the BH90 hoe lists for over $7000 plus you have to install rear hydraulics so you are saving a nice piece of change on your package.

That's a muddy L3130HST, 24PTO HP, in the pictures.<br>
I go nice and slow, use traction and hydraulic power rather than batter my way through with speed. May take a while, but I haven't broken or bent anything. Put up 2 new (and too big) 'benign' pics of tractor and woods, if you like pics.<br>

Though it may depend upon your zoning regulations and how corrupt your local city/town boards are, you may have a case that the parking lot owner has to make things right for you. I believe if construction adds appreciably to the downstream runoff there is compensation, in the form of 'make it right' to those landowners affected. Do you have any neighbors who are also experiencing this problem? Always helps to have multiple damaged parties. Perhaps the solution is as simple as the parking lot owner creating a holding pond which would release water from rainstorms/snowmelt in a controlled manner. I don't think yopu should bear the expense of a problem created by someone else, especially a business/parking lot. The appropriate zoning/permit boards should have regulations that protect you.

Oak is durable, stronger, heavier and (maybe) less expensive than treated lumber, but both are acceptible. You might look into lashing ( remember Boy Scouts ? ) the stringers to the trees using a wedge-shaped spacer to get the stringer reasonably plumb. There would be more flex in the structure without the nails pulling, and you wouldn't have to cut the trees, so when he outgrows the treehouse you still have your shade.

Sounds like a good price, but I'm wondering about the Woods vs. Kubota FEL and possible guarantee problems. Check if the tractor is still fully covered with that equipment.
I can say my 723 FEL is a rugged unit!

I don't think you'll be 'easily' digging into compacted shale/dirt piles. I have a L3130HST w/723 and heavy duty 72" bucket (no toothbar). Old piles with solid materials mixed in (rocks, stones, short roots&wood) require breaking down the pile so the material is loose. Even then you may not always get a 'full rounded bucket'. On freshly dumped 3" screened fill it works great. CUTS do have some limitations. You don't want the lighter but bigger 'materials bucket'. I recommend setting your rear wheels to the widest listed in your manual and maximum rear ballast. My info shows L3130 with R4's 57.7 inches, so you would need a 72" bucket to get a 'full width' of tractor cut. <br>
Watch your load, with a full bucket it is easy to have material fall over the backside of the bucket if raised too high at full rollback, especially if the working area is at all uneven. Go slowly, your technique wiil improve and you'll be suprised how much material you can move with a 3130. <br>
As for brush cutting, my dealer recommended the 60" medium-duty BushHog or Woods BrushBull, at approx. $1175.<br>

Unless you always get real 'powder' snow, a 68" blower is way too much for 17PTOHP. I use a 64" blower with 24PTOHP, and I can say I'm glad I have HST because when it drifts I have to go very slowly.

One additional check I would make is for loose bolts(wheels, loader frame). Though the manuals usually say to check them at 50hours, there is often so much paint between the metal surfaces they can become quite loose before that time, and checking them several times before 50 hours is a good idea.
You should also check the tires pressure too, especially if the temperature varies a lot, to see if they are within specs.
I check engine oil and hydraulic fluid levels, walk around eyeball check the chains, tires, 3PH, loader frame, and the floor (leaks) each day I use the tractor. Grease the loader every 8 hours, it's expensive to rebuild one.
Takes maybe 2 minutes so it's cheap insurance. If I was mowing or in dusty conditions I might add the radiator screen and air filter(s) to the list, but experience has shown for my use the 50 hour schedule is fine.

Any information as to your intended use would be very helpful. Do you plan to maintain a driveway, landscape your property, cut the lawn/field/brush etc?
As far as I know, the 0% 3-year financing is still available through Kubota. If you are going to buy implements usually your dealer can give you a better package price than if you buy them later. Don't rush into buying, be sure to test drive the models you are interested in, or that the dealer(s) recommend. Seemingly small differences, as a heavy-duty bucket and loader can amount to more than $1000, but increase the usefulness of your machine tremendously, depending on your needs. My L3130HST with 723 loader and heavy-duty replacable blade bucket was close to $20K last August. Add a rake, snowblower, and post-hole digger and its over $3K more...
I have over 350 hours on my machine, and feel Kubota makes a very solid, well designed product.

HP for the two is at different RPM, 2600 vs. 2700. There well could be internal engine differences also. Of course the PTO drive train would be optimized for the engine RPM.
