If the tractor has a loan on it the dealer or lein holder typically files a UCC form with the owners county recorders office.

Protect yourself & check with the county. No need to get stuck buying the tractor twice!! JD dealer may be able to run the SN for JD lein, no help if a local bank or CU has a loan out on it. Heard of a case where the seller moved counties & sold a tractor so local search was clear. New buyer went to a dealer for parts a year later & his tractor SN showed up on a repo list. If this is a first owner the selling dealer may have purchase records as well as maintenance history.

A neighbor traded 2 troubled NH computer tractors before switching to green w/a 6603 & loves it! Add weight the the rear & loader will be fine. We cleared snow with a 2wd TLB for 20+ years.

That solenoid manufacturer violated his contract with Yanmar and or JD by providing you with a part. They (OEM's) get very nasty very fast ie; that tractor fire is the direct fault of the suppliers part, all sorts of other part problems are traceable to that suppliers part, etc.. I think the legal term is liability transfer.

The OEM's lock up the suppliers with engineered parts & charge accordingly.

Glad you got your tractor running but engineering Failure Modes Effects Analysis information is closely held sometimes competitive info & your supplier employee put his job on the line as well as his employer's contract with the OEM.
