I have two Kubotas, and am looking for a better way to transfer fuel to tractor...I use a 5 gal. plastic container and a kerosene pump with batteries by lifting jug onto top of hood or steering wheel and using small pump to transfer fuel...How do you fuel yours?

How do you fuel you tractor there must be a better way

For years I have been using a small KEROSENE pump that is kind of small and many people use them to fuel kerosene stoves....it is powered by 2 "D" cell batteries and has about a 2 foot shaft that fits into my 5 gallon jugs that I use to haul my fuel in.....I cover my steering wheel with a big piece of old bed sheet that I use for a large rag..then I put 5 gallon jug on top of that and transfer fuel..There must be a better way....How do you fuel?

Got new B-2910 with 72" MMM last Friday......Man it is even better than I thought.......I did not realize what a good deal until I saw on this forum people were paying as muct as $18,500. for B-2910 with same mower.....I only had to pay $15,800. walk out price......I did go to three dealers within about a 50 to 75 mile area....but prices were not that much different....so I went with the dealer that I KNEW had the best service dept.......I know that on my B-8200 with a 60" MMM that I have had for 19 years I have probably paid as much or more for maintenance as I originally paid for the tractor...keeping it in tip top shape.....but the dealer I have been trading for for all of those years, really has NO service dept...at all....I literally have sent him 14 CUSTOMERS all ready to buy KUBOTAS....because I had already SOLD them on Kubota....all I ever asked in return is that he could get my tractor back to me within 3 to 4 days when something went wrong with it so I could cut my grass when it needed to without it getting too tall!!!! He always kept it 10 to 14 days....not for parts, but because he said he was too busy to get to it! It looks like a Kubota comercial when all of us are cutting in my area...we all have yards of about 4 to 5 acres with more land behind our yards......and they all now have Kubotas....except one farmer who has a large Massey.....I love my new tractor

The reason blades need sharpening is because I HOLLOW GRIND them....this means...sharpening them with less than a 20 degree angle....very sharpe......but then they dull quickly....a good friend of mine owns..FROST CUTLERY....That's right....he makes kinves.....about 10 years ago I got to talk with Jim's head metallurgist and ask him how to get blades the sharpest possible.....he helped me set up a grinding wheel to sharpen my blades at about 19 to 20 degrees....very sharpe....and also to cross blades at right angles....use 6 blades instead of 3....in order to produce clippings that are so tiny they just disappear into grass already cut....remember adding extra set of blades like this also allows me to cut at 7 to 8 inches hight.....when you cut this hight, you need MUCH more lifting power to raise grass and cut...this is accomplished also by the 6 blades as opposed to just 3....I have stated this here before.....JUST TRY IT..YOU WILL SEE...BTW..It is safe, because blades TIGHTEN AS THEY TURN, not loosen !<br>
I also put B 2910 and B 8200 on strong metal car ramps...to get to blades without taking MMM off....I can not believe that some people take their deck off to sharpen blades!...I can take blades off...pressure wash blades to get green gook off of them, sharpen them and re-install them in about 45 minutes....Yesterday I cut grass that was almost 20 inches high down to 7 to 8 inches...with no grass build-up !

Sounds like a B7200 or B7400...great price...do not get it if is not HST THOUGH....I CAN NOT believe it has so few hours....engine should be good, if taken care of, at least 3000 hours before any overhaul is needed. My B8200 has 19 HP, and I think the B7200 has 17 HP.

Look at the B series...2410...2710...and 2910 HST...Pay a little more....you will be glad you did...Take good care of it and service it on a regular basis, and yours will last like my B8200 HST.....19 years and as good as new ! I am keeping it even though I have a brand new B-2910 with a 72 inch belly mower.....B8200 HST has 60 inch belly mower and cuts like a dream.....It is known as one of the best mowers for cutting alot of grass ever made by commerical cutters !
