Jonathan, I am surprised at that, the radio is standard on a HSTC model here, you can't even delete it, I tried.

I can have a look at mine to see what is where but I'm not even sure how it comes apart. I have thought of changing it, the sound is not that great, but the stereo shop I deal with said the tinny sound is more a function of the small speakers and no baffling behind them coupled with low power output. I am going to have them come by a look at it. TomG may have some better ideas about this, he's the music man.

As for the antennae, the factory mounting spot is the left-hand rearview mirror bracket since the cab roof is plastic it would be a poor choise for mounting it there.

Also, consider that the oil in your engine crankcase can easily exceed 400 degrees F, and the oil is designed to take such temps.

I have a BX22 and it has done all that you described in your post. If you're going to be moving trees with the FEL, I recommend a set of pallet forks. I tried using a tow rope and it left the tractor center of gravity too high and I almost tipped the thing over.

I have a Lenar 274 and also had a problem with it not going into 4wd. I called the dealer and they sent someone right out. It turns out that the lever is held in or out of 4wd by a "detent and ball" mechanism. He reached up under the fender and sqirted some wd-40 on the ball and had it working perfectly in about 15 seconds. He said it was a common problem on new units because the ball seats to well in the detent. I have had no problem since. Hope it helps you.

According to machinerylink, they range from $7600 for a 1990 in good condition to $10600 for a 1996 model in premium condition. These prices don't include loaders or implements.

I got chains for my tractor this past winter and I was back to the rubbing problem. Turns out that the tires are reversible on the 7205. I flipped then (and swapped sides because the R4's are directional) and it got me another 2" of clearance on each side!

I had radials on the 4100 too and they were about the same size.

I do suspect that I could spin the R-4's a bit easier. I might play with that idea for a while.

My comment about the french-fries was not meant as a joke, I was being serious about it.

Let me explain. My firm is part of a test group. The company that supplies our solvents, and has the contract to haul away our waste oil, has also diversified into other 'wet waste' products. Among that is restaurant waste, food scraps and WASTE OIL.

The cheapest way to dispose of it is to burn it in diesel engines since health regulations dicvtate it can never go back into food products. They filter it, blend it and repackage it, then it gets blended into our 'Dino Diesel' at a rate of between 10% & 30% WVO (Waste Vegetable Oil). Careful measurements are made as to performance and so on but so far the results are VERY promising.

One interesting note to all of this is that lab. tests done show that even as little as 5% WVO dramatically increases the lubricity of the fuel in the pump and injectors, something which to-date had been provided by the sulphur in Dino Diesel.

HOWEVER, there is one drawback. No matter how carefully they filter that oil, it still smells like french-fries.

Yes, I agree with Murf. My pulverizer is a 72" and weighs about 650 lbs. Second to last photo in my pictures. I have it hooked to a 27 HP CUT that weighs about 2200 lbs. plus loader. It has its hands full.

What TNCHRIS said is absolutely correct. It actually states in the manual to "nudge" the hydro pedal if the range shifter seems stuck. Most of the time mine works fine, but if it's being a little difficult I just nudge the hydro pedal and it slides easily.

i let brother in law barrow my tractor-98 TC33. He cut his 3 acrea field with it, I went over to his house a noticed he had the grille and radiator grille completly plug with grass and stuff. I know he probably overheaded or got it hot becuase I now when I cut my yard I keep an eye on it and when it gets pluged it will run hotter. He had plugged way more thtn I have ever seen it. This is my only complaint with this tractor. I checked the rad fluid and it was low about a half gallon. I haven't talked to him yet so I don't know exacly how hot it was. My question is how much damage could have been done? It started up and ran fine. Are these forgiving tractors when ran hot? What should I check for? I did not see any coolant in the oil.

A disconnected loader cylinder line shouldn't cause that sort of problem with most loader valve assemblies because a relief valve would still be in the system. I would check to ensure that all loader valves are centered though. On most systems, there is no flow to the 3ph when any loader valve is closed and the loader also wouldn't move if cylinder lines to the lift and bucket weren't connected.

Connecting the valve inlet and return lines could cause a problem. If they were disconnected you should ensure they are connected to the right ports. The inlet and return ports on most loader valves are on the ends and cylinder work ports are in the middle. Many valves have two return lines and that is the return side.

I don't think these tractors have hydraulic manifold blocks with relief and diverter valves. You should identify the high-pressure line from the pump. It should go to the valve inlet. The inlet port should be stamped IN or P on the valve body. There could be a problem if they were connected backwards. These lines ordinarily are connected with threaded fittings and it'd be unusual if quick connect fittings were used but a problem could happen if a quick-connect on the high-pressure line wasn't seated and there wasn't a relief valve ahead of it.

One way to see if the pump is working is to disconnect the high-pressure line, run it into a bucket and start the tractor. However, oil in the bucket doesn't guarantee the pump works under a load. A pressure test would be proof positive but to run one a relief valve has to be in the system.

My 755/855/955 JD operators manual says the 855 is 24 hp and weighs 1870 lb with 4WD and R1s. The loader it usually comes with is the JD 70A, and I am guessing it weighs at least 800 lb. I have a 955, which is the same machine with
a 33 hp motor and 120 lb more weight. I just sold a 955 4WD
with about 550 hr and loader and new engine for $8200 in CA. I have seen many listings nationwide for up to $12K for similar 955s.

....now who's gonna give me a good deal on an L3130?

Arnie, have you sold your JD 855 and equipment? If not, have you set a price? I'm in the market for a small tractor and have been looking at those in the size range of a JD 4115 or Kubota 7510. Is the 855 comparable in size to those? I assume the JD 855 is a 4wd, hydro, correct?

The local JD dealer has a used 4100 with HST, 410 FEL and a 60" Mid mount mower. All looks fine except I wonder if I would be better served with a rear mower on the 3 point hitch. I have a lot of fields to mow around (note...we're not talking putting greens here but it's not what I would consider bush-hog stuff either). All told it's about 1.5 miles each time I make a "lap". It would seem like the rear mount might be easier to clean and to take on and off. The other consideration that I have is that we have about 7 acres of a prairie restoration that must be mowed "high" (around 6"-8") to keep weeds from going to seed. I will need to do this a few times a year for the next couple of years until it's ready to start burning. It looks like a rear mower would be easy to set up that high...not sure about the MMM. Also, I have an orchard that will need mowing but I think I have the room to use the RMM. Any suggestions? RMM or MMM? I'm *assuming* that I should be able to talk them in to trading the MMM for a RMM......<br>
