Hard for me to visualize, but I have use that spray-in expansion foam to fill unseen voids. But don't put to much in or it will blow things apart. Just a thought.

I agree, some 12-24-24 or 20-20-20 is a pretty strong mix for grass but would give you an all round better uniform growth of vegetation. Is use the 12-24-24 and put down about 500 lbs. per acre as far as grass, it is also very reasonably priced at the COOP. Last I bought was around $5.50 a 40 lb. bag. They will give a discount if you buy a ton or more. Lots of fun to spread with a push spreader if you don't have a big spreader. You also may want to test the soil to see if you need lime. Usually a ton to the acre. Don't forget to airate too!

I spent the whole day looking at two more tractors First one was a Cub Cadet 7304N 26hp. Looks very well built but looks to large for our 7 acres. A little pricey at $19200 with front end loader and an Erskin two stage snow thrower. Then I stopped buy my local Kioti dealer. Looked at two the first was the LK3054/ 30hp four wheel drive again about $19500 out the door. Lastly LB1914 Kioti for about $16300. The question is quality.Cub or Kioti? Thanks again for your support. I'm probably driving you all as crazy as the dealers I visit. But being new to the market I'm a little, no a lot lost by all of the choices there are. Thanks again.

Jinmas are not Yugos and usually the most negative comments are from people that have never even seen one. I've owned Kubotas, Fords, Belarus, and Jinmas. Jinma tractors are the best tractor for the money on the market today. Keep an eye out for the Jinma tractor and see if does'nt become one of the best sellers in the USA.

If you mean new, a 2001? 1 hour seems kinda strange even for a dealer tractor that old but not impossible. The price is very good as a 2001 4100 hydro 4wd goes for about $11,500 to $12,400. Why is he selling the tractor? Nothing is bullet proof but yes, they are nice tractors. Some in early production had issues with the front axles causing turf damage. The 4000 series tractor got off to a rough start with more than a few problems but got worked out towards the end of production. Go test operate the tractor out and see if you like it. If it is in as good a shape as you say and you like it; it is an excellent price. Question is, what is your intended use for the tractor and does it fit your need? Go for it if it does!

Magilla, do yourself a BIG favor and unless the owner can conclusively prove to you that all the maintenance is current and up to date; replace ALL the fluids and filters. This is VERY cheap insurance, establishes a maintenance base line that you know is done, and will expose possible mechanical problems if they exhist by showing contamination in the oils and filters. Make sure you run a good fuel additive to help keep the fuel system clean and lubricated. I run a mix of John Deere Summer Formula and Howes Diesel Treat. Remove all the covers and clean the entire tractor. (pressure washer with reasonable NOT high pressure) A clean tractor is a happy tractor. Finally, if possible store indoors or at least under cover. Not sure what problem you mean. This was a pre-sale question I asked before I ordered a JD 4310. I was just curious if the TC33D wheels could be inverted or the wheels could be swapped side to side to get a wider footprint. I know on cars and trucks if you go with negative offset wheels it puts a real strain on the bearings.

Yeah Cummins has that nice low end grunt and I do prefer their sound. I do think on the highway the PSD is going to pull slightly better, even with the load. Cummins is the more "traditional" diesel powerband the V-8 PSD likes to wind out somemore sot he passing gear is nice.

I've got the 4.10 rear so I get to the PSD powerband pretty quick but my mileage isn't as great as other guys at 75mph. Oh well there are always trade-offs.

Sounds like it's just a case of what your looking for.

Like you, I am no where near the limits of the truck... now if I get that 4 horse LQ trailer it might be more of a test. I need heavier toys to pull!!! As it is I am always volunteering for firends just to play with the truck, "come on we can fit another yard of ______ on the truck. ;)

Reason I brought the subject up is that it is hard on an engine to lug it badly at low rpm but on the other hand snatching the pto train into use is not good either. Just wanted to get some concensus on a happy medium.

A used John Deere 655, 755, or 855 4WD that has been well cared for might be in or at least close to your price range. Test operate the tractor and ask the owner if they have reciepts to verify maintenance. These are all great little machines and if garage kept and well cared for should be almost as good a condition as a new tractor. I would stay away from anything kept outside, too much deterioration. At least put up one of those pipe frame garages that bungee cords the tarp to the frame. Exposure to sunlight and weather takes and heavy toll on paint, hoses, instrument panels, tires, etc. Good luck on your search!

We are getting ready for the selfridge air show here. Getting excited about it. My wife has never been to a air show before. I went to Embry-Riddle Areonautical University in Daytona Beach a couple of years and they used to have a major show every summer.

AC5ZO, seriously speaking, I don't know much about smokers, but the guys at work who are big into deer hunting seem to pretty much go with the Brinkman smokers. Seemed like somebody was always bring smoked venison to work for the office to try. When I asked how they prepared it, almost all said they used the Brinkman. Not sure if it is that good or that was the only model available in the PX.

This little gadget was particularly handy last time I did the oil change in my Cummins and had a brain fart. Right before I started the engine I checked the level and then I realized that I had poured 22 qts. of oil instead of the specified 11. I did not want to waist that much oil so I was able to draw out 11 qts. and save the day. I also plan to change the oil in the differentials with this until I get my Mag-Hytech differential covers installed. Works great on the Sea Ray engine as there is no access to the oil pan drain plug. Not unless you are a midget contortionist. Also use it to draw water out of really difficult areas to get to in the bilge.

After I shoot each time I Scrub the bore and keep it wet with shooters choice for a few days. Usually takes the majority out without scrubbing. The problem ones are like you say, those that come used and needing a good bath.
