I was quoted $9995 for 4100 / 4wd + $2750 for 410 loader and dscv. Add $160 for turf tires.<br>Another dealer has add in St. Louis Sunday paper asking $9995 for 4100 4wd.

Bruce,<br>Get yourself a Magnatrac Hydro 5000 w loader and backhoe. You can get a dozer blade that fits the loader bucket arms. It may take some time, but you can do all of the stuff you talked about and a lot more. I have one and it sound like the lay of your land is similar to mine. Give Struck a call, they'll send you a video that will fully illustrate why the Trac is VASTLY superior to comparable compact tractors.

I got my TC25D from Ritchie Tractor this weekend. Yeow! Am I happy. It really is a very nice machine. Just some comments and impressions for those of you looking and trying to decide.<br>First, the deal with Ritchie was very good. My local dealer wouldn't give me a deal much less than retail so I looked around. My local dealer was stunned at the Ritchie price (22,166 with loader, backhoe, supersteer). Keith Rose at Ritchie was very patient with me as we worked out transportation and cash transfer. We did have one problem. Neither of us trusted the other. Ritchie wanted cash, and I wasn't about to hand cash to someone I never delt with before over such a long distance (I'm in Northern California, Ritchie is in Knoxville, TN). But we managed to work it out with a local bank. <br>The attention to detail on the tractor is wonderful. There are lots of little details that make it a really fine machine. That's one of the things that turned me away from Deere. There were details on the 4200/4300 that looked a bit cheap and that made me think they may have cut corners where it was important. But these are just impressions. What really counts is how often you have to visit the service department. That hopefully won't be for a long time. The motor is surprisingly quiet. But in the high range (it has 3 speed hydrostatic) on the road, the hydrostatic was really loud. In low and mid range, its ok. <br>I've used a stick and I've now used the hydrostatic. If you're not doing crop work, you're crazy not to buy a hydrostatic. It is WAY worth the money! For my property, (lots of trees) the supersteer is very nice. But it will dig into the turf contrary to what they say. But what do you expect, the front wheels are almost at 90 degrees to the rear!<br>I pulled out 5 stumps with the backhoe this weekend and it worked great. <br>No matter what brand you choose, don't go cheap on the options. You'll always regret it later.

THe 855 only has 19hp at the pto and a smaller engine than the 770. Its hp comes from running at 3600 rpm instead of 2600 you might look for a 870 and get even more hp better ground clearance<br>and mor pto since you are primarily looking at fence post also you get moer overall and since these are being discontinued you might get a better deal.

Len,<br>Check the operating lever to ensure it is not in the full lift position. I know this sounds simple, but my 1710 does the same thing your 1300 is doing if I let the lever go to full lift.<br>Did anyone turn the flow control valve off?<br>Good luck and let us know what you find.<br> <br>

The current year model 4020 weighs 840 lbs., but the brochure does not indicate if this is with deck or not. This is the same weight range as that of the JD 425. I believe all 4020 series came with a Category

If the tractor you are looking at has power steering, it is a "4020PS" and weighs 25 lbs. more. My cross-street neighbor at our vacation home has had an Ingersoll for years now--he's a Stihl/Snapper dealer, so I expect he selected based on the Ingersoll's quality. They are stout, and I'd buy one in a heartbeat if we had a dealer local. And thanks for the info on the front loader--the rumor was one would soon be available. "> Ingersoll 4000 series Any opinions

Hi,<br>One of the biggest problems is just turning over. Use synthetic oil and you get past this.<br>Next use an anit-gelling additive for the fuel. Then allow plenty of time for the glow start,<br>make sure they all work, then you should be fine.<br>Todd

I can understand a dealer giving priority to units he sold. And have no problem what so ever with them servicing a comercial users tractor before mine. As for not doing the work at all... I think refusing to do warranty work could have repercussions from the manufacturer being represented. I'm not sure I would want someone with this mentality to work on my tractor anyway. Who knows if they would do it properly. I'm glad I don't have to deal with someone like this.<br>Jeff in NC

Our 4300 has 49hrs on it and no problems at all, it pulls full rpms in C range, i drove it to a nearby gas station the other day and was impressed with the way it flew, i even got to use the cruise control button. overall no complaints, (except maybe a larger cup holder!)
