I went over to friends house Saturday and we got everything hooked up & tilled, but the L3200 definitely can't spread the lower arms as far as the B7800 series. This L3200 has telescoping stabilizers that hit the tire long before the lower arms would. The B series has the turn-buckle style stabilizers, and I think they are mounted closer to the main body, thus reducing the tire interference. This machine also has a backhoe bracket that may have something to do with the connection point location. I added photo 10 in my profile showing the connections. I recommended he replace the standard cotter pin with a pull pin, so the stabilizer can be temporarily removed if necessary for attaching an implement. We also discussed some quick attachment options since that should save about 7" in width, not having to go outside the ends of the pins.

Interesting story. I am a Stihl guy from way back, as I built and installed the tooling machines for Stihl back in the 1980's, for their crank shafts and connecting rods.
I have a friend in RI that bought a new Stihl about six months or so back. He ran it about four times, and the thing had to be brought back as it was (somehow) spent. the dealer told him he ran it without oil. Not likely to say the least. The thing was toast....just wanted to sell another new saw to him...again, not likely. Some years back, I was given an older Stihl to ad to my assortment of Stihl saws.
It needed a piston and cylinder, rings while I was in it. I found them on ebay, from a German supplier. As I am German, it was kind of cool to do this. Anyway, the Stihl dealer here in the USA, wanted some $90 for just the piston, let alone the cylinder and balance of parts I wanted. The folks in across the pond, not only furnished ALL the parts I desired, they sent me some German chocolate along with, for LESS (including Customs) that the price of just the cylinder from the dealer here. I realize that Stihl originated over there, but c'mon now....the prices here are nutty by comparison.
They do themselves a dis-service by being so greedy.

Not sure JUST how active this thread is anymore, and it has been a while. I just received a thread update.

I had the identical situation happen to me about six months ago now on one of my B5200's. It has the same rear lift as the 1550, 1750, 7100, etc.
Anyway, what mine ended up being was EXACTLY as you had described...that being I could lift while the fluid was cold, but as soon as she warmed a bit, no more action, other than downward - even at 2000 revs. Two part fix it was. The rear lift cylinder o-ring was worn out (about $10 to replace, and easy to get to etc.). The second part was, that the pump (hydraulic gear pump mounted on the right side of the engine), was finally spent. I found a replacement pump on ebay of all places, and installed it and AWAY my old girl went once again. I had put her thru ALOT of service over the years, being a 1987 model, so a little pump, (though pricey at $500 +/- at a 'bota dealer), was WELL worth the investment. I paid pennies on the dollar from ebay by comparison. I still have my B5200's and running strong! The B1750 was one of KUBOTA's best selling and lasting units as it incorporated many attributes from the x200 series earlier, and adding the power steering, "bi-turn", etc. Same loader, frame, tires/wheel size etc. as the B5200 on the like - hope you held onto it.

It was the late 90's that Kubota brought the first factory cabs out for us to enjoy. It was nearly ten years before anyone else introduced them as a factory option on compact tractors.
They have improved as we would expect from when they were first introduced and the air conditioning system today works much better although it is hard for us in NY to top the Texas air over 100 degree's!

DRankin, Thank you for info. I dig the idea of using "car" type tires.

I wonder how close the "wide 5" or old vw lug pattern is the Yanmar. You can buy steel VW rims for pretty cheap. I would think that you could make 1/4" thick plates that match the Yanmar pattern and then weld them on the outside of the steel wheel. Then back drill the holes through the rim.... What did you end up doing?

Dennis I found the same wording on this at 3 tv sites and one newspaper. We have three local tv stations and do no think ever heard all use the exact same wording inn a story.

It would be good if details were given to help others learn from his tragedy. Sure leaves a lot to wonder about. Still sad.

Just to append some thoughts to my observations of commercial crew use of front deck mowers. I have only personally used 2WD and 4WD tractors and walk behind Scag front deck zero radius commercial mowers. Some thoughts that discount commercial use of front deck riding mowers:<br>

1) Time is money, using these front deck machines means they will get done fast.<br>

2) The mower operators have little choice in the matter, and cannot really complain to the business owner if they even speak the same language. <br>

Deere made a kit for a rear outlet. It may still be available or collecting dust on some dealers shelf. It fit the whole 41-- series and probably the 2320.

Those little "JD" units at Home Depot (we call them "Lawn Deeres" BTW) are not built, serviced or warrantied by Deere.

They are MTD units built under license from Deere.

A few years back MTD started buying up all the riding lawn mower companies and the names of those they couldn't buy. They now produce all Bolens, Yard Machine, Yard-Man, Remington, MTD, Ryobi, JCPenney, Massey Ferguson, Cub Cadet, John Deere and Toro just to name a few.

John Deere for one became a master of cross-marketing years ago, witness the whole sections of Deere clothing nowadays.

You are most welcome.

I ended up consigning and selling the 4115 with the dealer who fixed it. Got a lot more out of it than I would have guessed.

I replaced it with a Kubota BX25D. I soon remembered why I sold my original BX years ago.

Good grief, the ride quality was killing me. But this time I figured out that replacing the rear tires could fix that. It will not lift or carry the same loads as the 4115 but I am learning to accommodate those limitations.

Anyway, glad to help. Hope you friends tractor works better with the upgrades.

I am looking for a small 4x4 tractor with loader to replace my Long 610. Came across a 2003 or 2004 Century 2535 4WD with C50 loader, 250 hours. Everything seemed working fine. The only problem I noticed was the bucket did not turn downward to dump the content quickly. It moved slowly Is this normal or a big problem? <br>
What would be a good price for this tractor?<br>

I have been working on a problem with the hydraulic in this tractor and found that the filter was plugged. I need a new filter. It is a cartridge inside a housing. It is 2 1/8" wide by 2 3/4" inches long. Anyone have a source? Shibaura P-17
