Greetings all. I just picked up a MT372D, had it shipped from Texas to colorado. The thing won't start unless I crank on it for a long timethen It belches black smote till it gets cleared up. So.. 1) Where does one put motor oil into this thing? How do I check the level? 2) Can I cean up the glow plugs, or must they be replaced..aslo what is the best way to gtthem out without breaking them? Thanks in advance... I ordered the manuals but they wont be here until next year...

You can start out with an inexpensive tractor and bush hog, and only six acres won't take too terrible long to mow. An old 8n ford should run 1500 dollars in fair shape, and you should be able to get a five foot bush hog for 300 dollars at a farm auction. I started out with a 1945 A John Deere and a five foot bush hog and progressed from there. I just bought a little 45 pto hp, 62 engine hp tractor, a little ford powermaster 801. It can pull my six foot bush hog with no problems, I gave $1800 for it, it had just been painted, and the engine had just been rebuilt. You can have six acres of yard even if you like and bush hog once a month. Unless you have people close that cut hay, you probably won't be able to get them to come for six acres. I think you can take the 5,000 budget, and get a tractor and bush hog, and maybe a 5 ft disk to help you maintain your property. You can bush hog say 1.5 an hour so tops 4 hrs once a month to keep it mowed, just maintain whatever you get, and look closely at whatever equipment you get, you don't want to have to have the expense and aggravation of it being broken all the time. I do think there are many ways you can accomplish what you want without breaking the bank.

I have a KUBOTA L3130 GST just 'bout what you got except mine has a few more bells and whistles. 30 hp like yours. dealer sold me a new 5' woods medium duty bushog when I bought the tractor new from him in 03. I have aquired 2 6' bushogs that I use occasionaly. the tractor bogs down in heavy stuff esp when crossing small gulleys with the 6 footers. the 5 footer works perfect and is not as wide as my tires but that is not a problem for me as I have the wheels set out as far as they will go for safety. I also assume you know a little bit 'bout bushogs or you would not be asking the question on this forum. Just my most humble opinion and hope it helps you. Buy a new or fairly new 5 footer!!!

Yes KT, my fear also is whether the seat belt will really hold you in. Or will you have some limbs extend beyond the ROPS. I generally use the seatbelt with the ROPS if I am going into any precarious situations. Then again a precarious situation is often one that does not appear to be precarious and then turns out to be one!

My wish list is a 16" or 18" post hole auger. I keep checking craigslist but haven't found anyone that wants to give one away yet :). I also wanted a stick welder just to begin playing around but already found one on craigslist.

Given that I'm retired and am on limited income I will probably wait until I get a job that requires the auger before I pull the trigger.

I have just expierenced the same problems with my 4x6 gator. It would crank and run a few seconds and go dead. I replaced the fuel pump to no avail. I just went out and took the filter out and it runs perfectly. I blew out the filters with compressed air and thought that would do, but it didnt. The small secondary filter is the problem. I just drove it down the road and its like new. Got filters coming in the morning from napa. Good luck with yours and thanks for your service

my tractor I was unloading a roll of hay off the back, I dropped the pto lever to set the hay . I heard a pop and tried to move away from the roll of hay and the only thing my tractor would is go in reverse. HELP!! I was going forward and somethg popped and its now stuck in reverse?

My main business has really been time demanding this summer and fall but is getting more normal now and allowing me some time to think on Christmas and Christmases past.<br>

We all experience similar events in life so want to share some thoughts with you:<br>
FYI I am a 60 year old granddaddy who is blessed with great children, sons in law and four grands from 2 months to 10 years. It is a blessing to sit and watch them as they perform in a Christmas Program and as you see the excitement in their eyes. It is now harder to think of what my wife wants as in my eyes she is as I am have all our needs and most of our wants.<br>
It is my desire to find what she would cherish. It is fun to try and solve that mission.<br>
I also find myself thinking back to those who did share Christmas with and now miss them. Still have some of the box of shotgun shells my Daddy gave me his last Christmas 44 years ago and wonder how important any one gift may be or become. <br>
<br>
I could go on and on have set the stage for where i want to:<br>
take time to think of those you love and who love you. Share your heart with them as you give them the best gift you can, your heart and time. Reflect on the blessings you have had in life and appreciate them but more so the ones yet to come.<br>
<br>
Reflect on the reason there is even a Christmas and how your relationship is with the Christ.<br>
<br>
In doing so want to thank each of you at TP and yes I do think on some no long here; all being a blessing to me. Many of you have made me laugh, helped me out in a decision, helped me make a wise decision. For all of that I thank you and look forward to more.<br>

It is on the web right heavy and Home Depot has a neat youtube video on it but I wonder if the man there mixed at their ratios and if so it looks like it takes a lot.

See you gave the carb a good cleaning..but to me it is just what our Gator did due to ethanol gas and required some work to the carb I think with some parts replacement. Well bill was about $150 maybe a little more.

Thanks Geg, I ordered a rebuild kit from Thomas at Affordable Tractor ($35). While I was at it I ordered all new filters for air,oil, and hydraulics. I figured as long as it sat would probably be for the best. It looks like the seat section will have be removed as there's no clearance. All the kids coming in for xmas this weekend, between getting things ready, the event, and aftermath it will probably be a week or so before I can start on it. I may have more questions after that. My parents lost a house they built to fire before there was such as house insurance and never recovered the loss. It was about 7 or 8 years before I was born.

You need to have a picture inventory of your property stored off location. A video is best describing the item as you go.

I am looking to buy a used Danuser 24p. I have a Yanmar 1300D which is 16HP and 13 HP at the PTO I think. I think that might be under powered for this chipper, but if I don't feed in too big branches, it should work right?

Can I give you a call to talk about your 24p?
I'd like to know how much the unit weighs?
Can I adjust the feedrate on the chipper?
