The technical name for the steering controller is "[i]balance string type hydraulic steering gear[/i]", despite the fact that there are no actual gears inside. But there IS a steel check ball in there. Only problem is, I see no way for that ball to "escape" without the controller having been at least partially disassembled at some point. I think you'd be interested in the controller diagram and operating principle, but I have no way to add graphics to this discussion. Given an address however, I could email it to you. The diagram also shows the location of that check ball. Once we start exchanging emails, you could send me a few photos so I can perhaps better understand that "direct open connection" bit.<br>

If you remove the hydraulic vent/fill plug and shine a light inside while the engine is running, can you see bubbles moving? If yes, you've got an air leak on the supply side. If no, it still sounds like the sump is over-full. And again, never drop the loader (or the TPH) when the engine is not running. <br>

When I use my right turn signal the right light blinks, but the left light also is illuminated solid and on the dash the right indicator blinks and the left indicator is illuminated. When I put the left turn signal the left light blinks, but the right light is illuminated solid and on the dash the left indicator blinks and the right indicator is illuminated. The four way flashers work properly. I opened the switch housings and dried them. I did the same with the fuse block. Is it correct for the turn light not being used to be illuminated solid? I have always kept my tractor garaged, but it sat out in the rain at the dealer for several days till they got it in to repair an oil leak. I am wondering if being out in the rain for a few days might be giving me electrical issues.<br>

There has to be someone who knows this better than I do but as the injector is sending fluid at precise moment it has to be in time with your pistons. So it does have to be in certain position. It might be only one way the two fit or you may have a problem to line back up.

The more I think about it, I believe it is the spring around the link to the carb. A close inspection will confirm.

Lenar has been imported to North America for quite a few years now. But they fell out of favor a while back due to bad press about initial QA/QC issues, and complaints about service after sale. Lenar reacted with somewhat of a corporate make-over, which is touted to have created "a new Lenar".

The shakeup leaves a duke's mixture of Lenars in the field, many of which have different parts than the "new" Lenar models. Some of the problematic dealers were let loose too. So when addressing Lenar regarding repair/replacement parts, it's more important than usual to have ready the make/model/serial number of the tractor you want parts for. And given that the dealer list was culled a bit, odds are good that you may have to install them yourself.

loosen the security screws enough to twist the sensor both directions as far as possible few times with engine shut off and then move back to the original position and start engine and move either direction very very slowly to get desired performance and idle quality and then slightly snug up the screws, have had to do this a couple times on mine, works great

Becasuce I parked the tractor in the pole barn front end first I could reach it with my battery cables they are not long enough to reach the battery the way it is parked at present.
I have an old Sears battery charger that I hooked up to battery which I bought this spring - I set charged for 12 volt option and the needle went to and stayed on 2 amp the hour I had it plugged in. I will look closer at settings on battery charger this weekend to see what it reads when I plug it in.
I have a new negative battery cable. It's about 12 inches long and runs just from negative battery top post to be bolted into bottom of battery compartment for to be grounded. It's quite rusty so I will spray lube it up first and try to remove old negative battery terminal first and put in new negative terminal and try to reattached to bottom of battery area on front of tractor.
I cleaned up the positive battery cable and will re install that also.
LIke I said previously when I turned the key on the tractor last weekend I got no sound at all - just an occasional single click - where other weekends the starter was turning over and winding out but not starting the tractor,.
Hopefully by installing new battery cables this weekend I can get some activity out of the tractor unless you have other suggestions. Thanx-Peter

Frank, thank you. We are very safe. Wind is mostly summer breeze. Not saying there is nothing else like it but ran off of a tropical storm come in bands. You can go from no ran to buckets pouring on you in seconds. I expect flash flooding to be the biggest issue here unless it moves and they do move.

TZbroke, yep it certainly is broken. No doubt they are shocked and are certain those bolt holes did not create a weak line on the frame.

Well as I sit about 25 miles from the southeast corner of North Carolina at the ocean we have been feeling some light winds and some ran off of Irene for about three hours. My thoughts and prayers are with you in it's path. Listen carefully to storm surge if in low area especially if storm surge is hitting with high tide. Flooding does a lot of damage and is the biggest killer. It is amazing to me the near straight north path she is taking. <br>

Forecast for us is about summer thunder storm if that strong. We can easy use the rain while understand NJ and that area is wet and it so be ready for trees to be blown over if winds hold. A pro said where the wind hits from the SE expect more trees down than if the NE direction. <br>

If you suffer damage you need to take pictures and protect your property. If a lot of damage it may take a few days for adjustors to get with you. If the radio and local tv is full of insurance companies telling you they have adjustors on hand, then they are expecting damage at least near you. They love to use such for advertising. Do watch for down power lines. <br>

If you don't have your generators, chain saws and tractors fueled and waiting..hope to it! Do be careful. <br>

Depending on the linkage you have a simple drill to next pin size and then install that size pin might solve your issue. Of course if you can not find pins that size there are bolts or cold roll rod to cut for pins.

35 PSI is low. There is a spring loaded compression release on the inside of the camshaft. There is a tab that hits the lifter at slow rotation until rpms get up and overcome the spring pressure. If the spring was broken I don't think the release would work at all and I have never seen one bound up to hold it on all the time, but I guess It's possible. Could be a valve train problem. Valves are set at .005 cold

That doesn't sound like it should break an axle. I'd guess a casting defect - they do happen, on any brand of tractor. The dealer should make good on that.

The leaking connections aren't a big surprise, either. Chinese hydraulic connectors are prone to that since they use a goofy (in my opinion) style of seal. If you can get some "bonded washers", the ones with the rubber fused to them, of the appropriate size, they usually do the trick on the loader hose connections. Otherwise get a good stock of the right size metric o-rings.

The aftermarket loader control my just need the connections tightened a bit. They're probably JIC or SAE connectors.

As for overloading a bucket on a loader, it is entirely possible, particularly with big rocks, concrete or really wet heavy clay. To say nothing of scrap metal, etc. My loader bucket is 5' wide and rated at about 900# load - I can easily put more weight than that in it, but that just risks damage.

A bucket that was small enough to ensure that a user couldn't overload it weight-wise would be uselessly small when working with lighter materials. No matter how foolproof you try to make a piece of equipment, there is someone out there who will manage to screw it up. (grin)

Skip, click on the word "classifieds" at the top of the forum, that should take you to the main classifieds page, listing all classifieds.

Just above the ads themselves there should be in blue type, "Add a classified ad" to the left, and to the right also in blue type "Edit - Delete a classified ad", click on that and it will list your ads which can then be changed or just deleted.

It also depends on the material the mulch is made from. Cedar versus pine, etc., Cedar is often down around 550 pounds a yard.

Some of the newer stuff, made from recycled car tires is a bunch heavier than the natural sourced stuff.

Totally guessing here: if you don't see any sign of broken metal doubt it had a guard on that side. Would I want to run it as it is, NO WAY. It is not just what you are asking about but it has to throw things all directions. You should be able to build a decent shroud for it to protect the operator if you are going to use it.
