HI TOM, IN CASE YOU ARE INTERESTED. I HAVE FOR SALE A 1997 FORD NEW HOLLAND MODEL 1920 FOR SALE.<br>HEATED CAB W/EXTRAS (WARM AND COZY), FRONT MOUNT SIX FOOT TWO STAGE SNOWBLOWER, REAR BLADE, AND A HYDRAULIC LOG SPLITTER. <br>I BOUGHT THIS AT THE BEGINNING OF WINTER 1997. I LIVED AT THE END OF A FOUR MILE FIRE TRAIL AND USED THE TRACTOR TO KEEP THE LANE OPEN. ONE SNOWFALL WE HAD WAS TWO FEET. THE TRACTOR CUT THROUGH THE SNOW SENDING IT 35 FEET EFFORTLESSLY.<br>I USED THIS MACHINE FOR MORE THINGS THAN I EVER THOUGHT I WOULD. <br>I RECENTLY MOVED AND NO LONGER NEED THE TRACTOR. HATE TO SELL IT BECAUSE I LOVE IT BUT.....<br>LESS THAN 400 HRS AND MOST OF THEM WERE AT IDLE RUNNING THE SPLITTER. I PAID AROUND 30K FOR THE PACKAGE AND WOULD LIKE TO GET 25 BUT WILL TAKE BEST OFFER

HI ED, CAN'T REALLY ANSWER YOUR QUESTION DIRECTLY, BUT CAN TELL YOU OF MY EXPERIENCE. THREE YEARS AGO I BOUGHT A NEW 1997 FORD NEW HOLLLAND MODEL 1920 WITH A SIX FOOT TWO STAGE BLOWER. I LOOKED AT THE KUBOTA, DEERE, AND OTHERS AND FELT THAT THE FNH WAS A MUCH BETTER ENGINEERED MACHINE. AROUND 32 HORSE WITH FOUR CYLINDERS. THE OTHERS WERE MOSTLY THREE CYLINDERS AND HAD TO WORK MUCH HARDER TO PRODUCE THE SAME RESULT. I FELT THAT THIS MEANT THAT THE OTHERS WOULD HAVE MORE PROBLEMS. BREAKDOWNS ETC. THAN THE MACHINE THAT DIDN'T HAVE TO WORK SO HARD. <br>THE FIRST WINTER WE HAD A TWO FOOT SNOWFALL IN A 24 HR PERIOD. THE MACHINE PERFORMED ADMIRABLY, SHOOTING THAT TWO FEET OF SNOW 35 FEET EFFORTLESSLY. I HAVE LOVED MY TRACTOR BUT NOW AM FACED WITH THE NEED TO SELL IT AS I HAVE MOVED AND NO LONGER NEED IT.<br>FYI- HEATED CAB W/EXTRAS, BLADE, HYDRAULIC LOG SPLITTER. PLUS NOT HAVING TO WORK AS HARD TO GET THE SAME RESULT INDICATED TO ME THAT THE FNH WOULD BE MORE RELIABLE WITH LESS BREAKDOWNS. HEY GEORGE, I HAVE A MODEL1920 FORD NEW HOLLAND WITH A SIX FOOT TWO STAGE BLOWER. I HAVE USED IT THE LAST THREE YEARS TO KEEP OPEN A FOUR MILE FIRE TRAIL HERE IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA. WORKS GREAT. CUTS THROUGH TWO FEET OF SNOW LIKE A HOT KNIFE THRU BUTTER. ROCKS CAN BE A PROBLEM THOUGH. SO WHAT I DO, IS COMPACT THE FIRST FEW INCHES OF SNOW, AND RUN THE BLOWER OVER THE TOP OF THAT. SURE, ONCE IN A WHILE I DIG A LITTLE DEEP GOING UP OR DOWN A HILL AND TOSS A FEW STONES. THEY DON'T GO MORE THAN THIRTY FEET AND THEY ARE SURROUNDED BY SNOW SO NEVER BEEN A REAL PROBLEM. BUT ALL IN ALL BLOWING IS MY FAVORITE. YOU CAN ONLY MOVE SNOW WITH A BLADE SO FAR. INCIDENTLY, I MOVED AND NO LONGER NEED MY MACHINE. IT HAS LESS THAN 400 HOURS ON IT AND MOST OF THOSE WERE AT IDLE OPERATING A LOG SPLITTER. GOOD LUCK

I'd be very careful purchasing Chinese equipment, since their manufacturing quality control is so poor. I've yet to hear from anyone who loves his Chinese tractor -- Shenniu, TaskMaster, Bison, Hardy, etc. etc. Common complaints include poor fit and finish, shoddy assembly, rough castings, poor reliability, spotty parts availability, zero ergonomics and poor machining.<br> On the other hand, I've heard from several people who own

Some farmers will lease for up to 5 years and then purchase @ lease-specified price & financing, typically for 3 to 5 more years of payments. This lets you bail out at the end of the lease if you need to. Of course, as larry murray and larry m have indicated, you pay for all these choices.

The Glideshift trans. is "the best" one available. The "add on cab" hurts value compared to the factory type cabs w/ac and two remote hydr. control valves as std. equip. that were available on L4200gst 4wd models. The availibilty of the loader control JOYSTICK valve inside the Sims cab may be an issue you need to check carefully. The Kubota designed cab and loader control valve is very neat and easy to reach/use, without taking up valuable cab space. Caution in shopping is needed when testing the transmission shifting through the different speeds and fwd/rev hydr shuttle. If the tractor was used as a HD working industrial unit --- the reason for selling now -- maybe a hidden problem or agenda. Make sure it doesn't hestitate too long between speeds or direction. If it does, have an experienced Kubota mechanic advise you. I'd suggest a rental or real good demo (with load and warm up time) before purchasing. Or get a power train warrranty that will last you through the summer. The cosmetic appeal (looks) of the tractor will be very important in its value and will give you a good feel if the unit was "abused" or "babied". If warranty is not an option --- SHOP and BARGAIN very carefully.
You'll want to compare it, " price wise", to other L4200gst w/factory cabs (AND A/C) The air conditioning is a very important factor in many ares and the tractors that have it SELL/and/SHIP all over the country. Therefore, the extra value pays a dividend even for "cold country" buyers when they resale or trade-in the used tractors.
FLIP SIDE-
Sometimes folks DO NOT get the factory cab because it usally cannot be used with a three point hitch type backhoe. The Sims cab, here, maybe a result of this factor and may play into your planning as a PLUS instead of a negative.

Just bought a 60" Vemco flail mower for $200.00. It needed repair and I fixed the bearings. The paint is faded but who cares!Now I need some new flails and hangers. Problem is nobody around hear has parts for them. I suspect the L-shaped flails and 1/4" dia. bent hangers are universal. Any ideas? It really works good and is in good shape. Thanks Victor:<br>

the plow will even help with the tiller but the disc is not the way to go as you will have roughly 50 lbs or less per foot of cut where the farmers in your area are useing a disc with 300lbs per foot. Time is not the only thing to look at unless you care to drive back and forth and just waste fuel as well as time. The tiller will give you better soil to seed contact by pulverizing the soil quicker.
