Bill<br>I'm not for sure about the post hole digger and single stage clutch. However, overrunning means that the power of a spinning implement (like a mower) will not push the tractor forward, as if it were in gear, when you depress the clutch. Consider it a safety feature. <br>Lee

More than likely your Kabota has a worn reverse gear. Can you hold the shift<br>lever with your hand and then does it stay in gear somewhat? If you do need <br>a reverse gear, parts will be about $200. but the big thing is labor. If you<br>feel comfortable about splitting your tractor apart, you may be able to get <br>a manual or some drawings showing you the breakdown and perform this yourself.<br>If this doesn't sound like something you can tackle, be prepared to pay for <br>about 8 to 15 hours labor.

Not true about kubota parts and availabilty. I have owned two and I have found that<br>is just a rumor. They make an excellent tractor. Check out kubotasource.com and<br>you'll see why. The price on a kubota is generally lower than that of a comparable <br>JD.

Ran into the same problem. I was ripping my yard apart. <br>This FORCED me to go with the Turf Tires. I hated to do it but at least now had both.<br>Changing tires would still be a pain and I started looking for a second set of wheels.<br>However, some time has passed and a few heavy snow storms, some medium-bad mud, and a few loader jobs later, the Turf tires are just fine.<br>P.S. I have a JD 4100 with 4wd.

Hey all,<br> Nice to see such a great board that focuses on the compacts!! Anyway, I recently bought a 1981 JD model 750 and wanted your opinion on the price. It is a pretty standard model (no power steering) with 977 hours on it. It is your basic tractor with standard 3ph, 8sp tranny, and locking diff. The 3 cyl Yanmar diesel engine, sheetmetal, and tires look to be in good shape. The only thing wrong with it that I can tell is that the front headlights, lenses, and sockets and the left rear flasher need to be replaced. Oh yeah, the diesel fuel tank cap needs replacing (JD says $43!). It has a fuel gauage built into it, but the glass is broke which can let water in the diesel. A no-no!! The owner removed the ROPS at some point and GAVE IT AWAY!! Can you imagine?? I will have to get a replacement for it at about $275 from JD. Anyway, I got a 4foot disc harrow, and some weights for the front end with it. The final price was $4500. Does this sound average to you??<br>Thanks!<br>Keith<br>

of the fluffier stuff, not too much moisture content, and after using the
blower for a few passes, I blew a shear bolt, guess I scooped up too
much gravel, and it jammed. I immediately switched to using the loader
only, like a plow, and pushed the snow off of my 200 ft drieway. The shear
bolt is a simple fix, but I was lazy and waited until I was done to fix it.
In light snow, you can get by with the loader. In heavy stuff, I prefer
the blower.
This is my first winter with this setup, and it works great. I had
reservations about the rear mount blower, but having both on the machine
makes it wondeful, and more than makes up for having to turn around
and drive backwards!.
I bought mine in July: 1992 B1750HSD 600 hours, stored indoors, Kubota
loader and 60 inch mower deck, and 3pt Chipper shredder, and 60" blower
for $11k. The best deal I've seen yet!
I was originally looking for a front mount blower, but found it too
expensive. I guess if the machine you're considering comes with it,it'd
be OK, but I understand you have to mount a subframe, and it might be a
pain.

For what its worth. Kubota dealer in Hickory MD. stated that they have had<br>problems in the past with the GST trans. He highly recommended the hydrostatic.<br>I know the hydro cost more (I have a hydro) but from my experience I'd never<br>go back to a gear tractor. (I had one originally). I realize you loose a little<br>horsepower, but the convenience of the hydro is worth it to me. Just my 2 <br>cents worth. Good luck.

Even though I think the Magnatrac is a very interesting piece of equipment why<br>would anyone buy one when you could purchase a skid steer loader that you could<br>put grouser tracks on. With brand names skid steers; Bobcat, John Deere, Case,<br>JCB, etc. you could have everything that the magnatrac offers and more but have<br>parts availability, brand name recognition, and probably cheaper price. The<br>accessories available for the skid steers are only limited by your pocketbook.
