"IF" they aren't any larger than 2" in diameter, I raise the loader up and level the bucket. Push into the SMALL tree. As it starts to lean, lower the loader to help push the tree down. After it is down, back up, place the bucket lip under the exposed roots and push. That should finish taking it out. I have been known to push over 3" trees. BUT, watch over head and keep an eye on your bucket lip. Some buckets that aren't strong enough will bend.

Have you checked the the hydralic cylinder rods? I have seen rods that had a slight bow in them. If they have a bow, they will squeek really bad. Take a straight edge, like a carpenters square, and check each rod in 4 places. If they are bent, you can straighten them by using a wood 4 x 4 on the high side to bend them straight. Just bend a little and check. Do it a little at a time.

From what I have read the 4300 has independent PTO. Most tractors with independent PTO have an on and off switch on the dash in addition to the lever you have referred to. I must not be familiar with the type of set up that you have without a switch for the electro-hydralic clutch running the PTO.

I have a MF 1250. For a while I ran two 100w lights on the single plug I was refering to. It did just fine. Two of the 55w could be handled very well by the circuit. The plug is a keyed source so, your lights will go off when you turn the tractor off.

Another think that can cause a shaft to bend is the fluid being hyper-aerated. This can be caused by a small internal crack in the hydraulic pump or in the pick up in the transmission. The air being mixed with the fluid will cause the relief valve to mal-function. When this happens, the backhoe will get to much pressure.

Jim,
I find it hard to believe that your engine can’t be rebuilt. If I were you I would ask around at diesel truck shops and car garages to find out if there is GOOD engine machine shop in your area. I have seen just about everything that can be broken or torn up on a engine and short of a rod making a big hole in the side of the block, it can all be rebuilt. Even if it has to be sleeved or cracks fixed in the head, it would be less costly by far than $5000.

Woodie, try your local welding and or fabication shop. I have a really good one in my area and you probably have one too. Some times, I just tell them what I want and other times I draw a working print on the computer for them. If you really want it to fit good, take your tractor and the weights to them for fitting. My shop just charges $30 an hour plus materials.

Han Top, I have to agree with Murf and Bird. I have a 1250 Massey (32 hp) and when I first got it, I bought a light weight 6' blade. I found out real fast that I couldn't do what I wanted to do with it. I traded it in on a Hardee-Williams ABH-84. The Hardee looks a lot like the blade you are looking at except it is 7'. You can also do a lot more in the way of ditches and the like with this type of blade. I had the same problem that Chris had until I dropped the tractor end of the third arm to the lower of the three holes. That fix the problem and it is level again. It works great......

Mike, I had rather have parts made by out side suppliers. The reason is, if a tolerance is just off by say 3 or 4 thousandths, the in house guys are more than likly to say well we will use it. It won't hurt any thing and if I don't use it, I will stop production and I could get fired or written up. On the other hand, If it is from an out side supplier, then the specs. are checked when they come in the door. If they are out of tolerance, then they will be sent back to the manufacture. If it continues to happen, then the contract will be terminated and an other supplier will be procured. JerryG

Bubco, makes a real nice one. www.bubco.com It is complete,hoses,relief valve connectors etc. Tisco has the cylinders but, you have to order the other parts separetaly(?). Tisco has to be ordered through a dealer. JerryG

There are some companys that made them ready to install. Woods/Gannon(www.woodsonline.com) and Bubco Inc.(www.bubco.com) are two that I know that sell them. I think the Gannon one just comes in Cat.2 but, the Bubco comes in Cat. 1,2 & 3. The Bubco also appears to be the best made. It also has a length gage that can be seen from the seat while in use and it is complete with hoses and quick couplers and I believe a pressure check valve. The retail on a Cat. 1 is $299.95. JerryG

Does the Kelly have a subframe? My 1217 does. I can take it on or off in about 15 minutes. I will have that down to about 8-10 minutes in the next 3-4 weeks. That's because my dealer didn't put the hose connections where you could get to them very well. I have already bought the hoses to put it where it will be easy to get to and also a switch valve so that I don't have to reconnect the power beyond. I will be able to just disconnect and switch the valve the other way. JerryG

It would be my quess that you used a twelve point socket. Go to Lowes or Sears and get you a six point deep well socket of the size you need. If you used a twelve and it rounded the corners off, the six point will more than likely work. JerryG

By all means, always wear your seat belt. I have had a neighbor that died from a turn over on a pond bank and I have had to get a man out from under a flipped 8N. The 8N man was lucky, he didn't die. Play it safe, wear it. Only ONE accident can kill you. JerryG

I finally put wheel weights on my 1250-4 Massey. All I can say is WOW. What a differance. Before, it would get light in a lot of places that I bushhog. Now I can bushhog a lot more places and the tractor is still stable. I should have had them on a long time ago. JerryG

Your differential lock is working right. When you are using it, you need to KEEP pressure on the lock peddle. When it is let up and the same amount of traction is once again returned to both wheels, the peddle will release. Don't let up on the peddle until you are unstuck. JerryG
