I was quoted on the King Kutter tillers:

TG 48 $1282 (King Kutter 2 - Gear Drive)
XB 48 $1177 (King Kutter - Chain Drive)

Do these numbers sound reasonable? They are from Fleet-Farm the local big box farm supply store.

Yes, a little over slow idle, maybe 12-1500 rpm (no tach on a BX). Yes again, about the same before shutdown.

John Kerry visits a primary school and sits in on one of the classes, which is in the middle of a discussion on words and their meaning. The teacher asks Mr. Kerry if he would like to lead the discussion of the word "tragedy."

So, the illustrious leader asks the class for an example of a "tragedy."

One little boy stands up and offers -- "If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a runaway tractor comes along and knocks him dead, that would be a tragedy."

"That's wrong," Kerry shouts. "That would be considered an accident."

A little girl raises her hand -- "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy."

"You are completely incorrect" shouts the Senator. "That would be what we would consider a great loss."

The room goes silent -- no other children volunteer. Kerry searches the room. "Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?" Finally at the back of the room a little Ernie raises his hand.

In a quiet voice he says -- "If a plane carrying the Senator John Kerry were struck by a missile and blown to smithereens, that would be a tragedy."

"Fantastic!" exclaims Kerry. "You are absolutely right. "Can you tell me why that would be a tragedy?"

"Well", says the boy, "because it sure as heck wouldn't be a great loss, and it probably wouldn't be an accident!"

A cheap cieling fan or two increaces the effectiveness of a unit heater dramatically. It worked wonders in my 28x36 garage with a 10' cieling. I only have a 48,000 btu furnace which, along with the fan, keeps it comfortable all winter on minimal fuel (natural gas).

Looks alot like the BX23 setup to me. By the look of this equipment I would believe that Woods is the OEM supplier to Kubota. Their FEL is almost exactly the same as mine (Kubota LA).

Drive both and your body will tell you which to get. People around here will debate gear/hydro untill the cows come home. It is all about personal preferance.

Primary issue, even over gear/hydro issue, is to be happy with the dealer. A bad dealer will ruin a good deal emediately.

The WI DNR is responsible for the every 2 Years. Never the less, it is a good idea to have it pumped every few years to prevent the "personal" items from getting into the drain field. Pumping is cheap insurance.

There is plenty enough bacteria in the black water put into the system that renders the "culture" products wasted money. Too much bleach or other products like that will cause problems, though, for any bacteria.

I used cast couplers between the sections, and a drive coupler on the top to hit. I would take it off and replace it with a cast coupler, put on the next section and put the drive coupler on the top. At the end the coupler was beat to "heck."

BTW: I used regular teflon tape without problem. Trick I found was to keep twisting the entire well while diving every few (10-15) hits. Here's where that 24" pipe wrench comes in handy.

The 2003 and newer HD Dodge trucks now use American brand axle assemblies rather than the old Danas. Have they switched the 1/2 tons as well? American axle is the same manufacturer that supplies GM.

GM uses a "Gov-Lock" type anti-spin which has a number of small weights on a spinning governor which have been prone to catastrophic failures. Is this what failed on yours?

Have you ever seen the kind that look like a spring loaded pitch fork?

They push into the ground and straddle the burrow. When the animal goes through, it is triggered and you get a "gopher sickle." I've had decent luck with these in the past.

That will work. One side at a time. Don't worry about coolant with a hand held cutter, you'll electrocute yourself. Watch the heat build up, it will warp your project. Cut small sections at a time to keep heat down.

A small plasma has a million uses, I didn't know this project had that kind of budget.
