Wow, take a couple days off and this string really went!

When I said "super cheap fleet sales" for Ford this was not meant as a slam, but rather Ford takes great pride on selling volume numbers of vehicles to state, county, city, and "industrial" fleet customers at huge discounts. Not through regular dealer networks, but corperately. Which is good for them.

Been there, tried to bid against it, lost badly.

My Cummins Dodge 2500 is rated at only 175hp. Look at the torque rating: 295 lb/ft! Torque is what gets the work done. Hp is just a mathmatical computation of rpm to torque.

I just hope they put it with a option package that is good, ie Limited.

I recieved several customer feed back forms from both my dealer and Kubota. If you treat them with courtesy, that is what you will get back. If you act like a 10 year old, that too, will be what you get back.

Seriously though, I'm interested in how your FEL mounts/dismounts compared to the Kubota. DO you have a picture of it off the tractor? There seems to be alot of brackets and braces there, do they stay with the tractor or loader?

Thank the left wing tree huggers for OBD3 (On Board Dianostics 3rd Generation). There are NO user accessable diagnostics. An owner used to be able to (OBD1 and OBD2)jump a couple pins or switch the ignition off and on several times to get a "code" from the check engine light.

Several proposals are on the books to "lock" the hoods on newer vehicles, ie. go to dealership for everything from filling the windshield wash on up. It's only going to get worse.

I could say the same thing about my BX2230. I chose the Kubota for (among other reasons) the fact that the local Deere dealer wouldn't even talk to me unless I was going to spend $250,000. The New Holland dealer told me they didn't make a small +/-25hp diesel tractor. The Kubota dealer was friendly, knowledgeable and treated me like a valued customer.

There's a debate on this subject warming up in the John Deere forum. I use a 18' car hauler to transport mine because it is what I have. I like to have a safety factor when to this type of work. Brakes and 15" truck wheels are mandatory for me.

The argument is mainly between single and tandem axle trailers. With the Hoe and FEL on your tractor I would think that your rig would be to the high side of 3000 pounds. In my OPINION this is more than a small utility trailer can handle, no matter how its rated.

Unfortunately this is a common problem with the Dodge Auto-Trannys. Knowing many people in the business, the problem usually stems from modifications and/or abuse. Big tires, hot-rod chips, overloading are all real common problems. How many stock trucks do you see? Just beacuse it looks like a T2000 Kenworth, doesn't mean it is, or can be.

As they say at the Turbo-Diesel Register (TDR) website: (Cummins Dodge Organization) If you modify your truck or abuse it you "...become your own warranty station...".

Their auto-trannies are weak, it's a known fact, thats why I bought the 5-speed.

When I first bought my trailer, I had to re-do the trailer plug because of a simmilar problem.

The ground on the trailer was terrible, and had several of the "clip" splicers in it. These things are the worst thing ever invented!! Even the best trailers have these stupid things on them. My trailer is now 10 years old, and the only wiring problems I have ever had centered around these "clip" splicers.

Snowmobile trailer also needed the ground redone when it was new (way back when).

I've gotten a King Kutter box blade for my 2230, and it also works good as a counter weight, (300 lbs.) but I am curious about wheel weights for the BX tractors. <br>

The throttle cable was my own addition a couple years ago. There were 2 small punched holes on the handle already, so maybe there was a control of some sort there when it was new? It really isn't *that* heavy, when I was younger I mowed my parents yard (3/4 acre of hill) with it for a while before the 'ol Case 220 showed up.

Arrow: I agree with Loghouse, please use the (10-3) 220v and mount a small temporary breaker box. My neighbor buried a small (12-2) 110v line and ran it about 250 feet to a shed in the back yard. The fire inspector said the cause was electrical. House was a total loss.

I went with a complete 2nd service to a 200 amp panal in the workshop because my main house 200 amp service was full. Watching the house acrossed the street burn kind of put the fear of God in me.

Bought the box scraper yesterday, before it went off sale price. Got it as far as assembled and into the garage before the monsoons started again! I have a job for it next weekedn so we'll see how she runs.

Other than fairly poor paint quality (scraped and chipped from living in a discount farm store yard) it looks okay. Nothing fancy, but functional, and that's all I need. I'll get a picture up later.

I don't want to beat the provervial dead horse, but is the consensus on the King Kutter XB series implements (spacifically box scraper) that they are okay for non-professional use? What I mean is for lighter use around home, not to make a living with. <br>

The local farm supply stores (Mills Fleet Farm) has the XB box scraper on sale for $249. Cheap compared to Land-Pride or other higher quality equipment. Just wondering if they are worth the money (tight budget right now).

tsjr54: I was having the same debate on weather to get the bagger for my 2230, but decided that some insentive from the dealer($) and including it on the financing of the whole package, the quality was well worth the added expense. Having the complete package it a plus, rather than a hodgepodge of mix and match parts.

Their bagger is really second to none, it's amazing how well it works. (especially now that I know the trick to mounting it!!)

Does any one have a canopy on their BX sized tractor? Does Kubota make one or is this an after-market type of thing? I'd like to investigate this and maybe a matching windscreen before next snowblowing season. How about a hard cab?
