Dk40se loader issue? I am not sure if this is normal, but has anyone came across this. I do not get full lifting or curling power to my loader unless I engage my hst moving slightly forward or backward. If this is not normal, what might my problem be?

It has 305 hrs on it, fluid is full and not contaminated, new filters. I noticed it yesterday doing heavy loader work. Its the first time I have needed it to lift to capacity. Without HST engaged it would not lift, as soon as I barely push forward or backward pedal it lifted very strong. Even lifting loaded rear tires off the ground with a heavy duty 6 ft brush hog on 3pt.

HELP

Are you running the tractor at PTO speed?

But sounds like you are dangerously stressing the Tractor and your safety by trying to lift something too heavy in my opinion.

There shoould be no requirement to move tractor wheels to make any loader go up and down. ....

Yes it was at pto speed. Lift capacity of the tractor with kl401 loader at pins is 2760lbs to full hight. I was lifting maybe 1500lbs in the bucket. Breakout force is 3730lbs.It would even try to lift it until I barely pushed the hst pedals. Ive ran alot of heavy machinery in the last 20 years and have never came across this as normal operation. Normally when trying to lift over capacity the tractor will start to struggle then the pressure relief causes it to stop lifting. If I was trying to lift over capacity, then it wouldn't lift it when I engaged the hst. But I guess 20 years of running heavy machinery hasn't taught me how to run equipment safely. ....

Broz,

Many times new owners ask questions after just buying a machine, and have little experience.

So I meant no insult to your skill as an operator. Just that in general with proper ballast you expect all 4 wheels to keep in contact with the ground. I guess you were just saying that the loader power was kick ass strong, not that you think being out of balance is the way to go. My bad sorry.

But I never ever have seen a tractor that had to move forward or backward for the loader to work properly.

Best of luck

Bob ....
