My older Gator 4X6 started spewing white smoke, and it looks like the radiator cap fitting is no longer sealing properly. The current part is plastic, but I can only seem to find metal versions to replace it. Not sure if the problem is the cap or the fitting. Does anyone have experience with this?

I would think a metal replacement would be fine. I also think you may be pushing compression into the coolant cavity thru either a blown head gasket or a cracked head. White smoke is not good either inside or outside the motor. ....
