I am having problems bleeding the injection pump, and injector lines. I believe the air is getting into the system at the primer pump. Any experiences with this primer (booster) pump? When I pump, the diesel squirts up along the shaft, and pressure will not build. If diesel gets out, I am concerned that air gets in along the same path. The bleed plug above this pump does not fill; rather, I continue getting air and a bit of diesel. Most of the diesel comes out at the plunger shaft, as noted above. Primer pump may need to be rebuilt?

You can unscrew the cap that holds the plunger and replace the o-ring on the plunger. That should work for you. ....

Thank you Cowrider!
When I unscrew the cap, and pull the plunger, will diesel start to freeflow from the booster pump? I do have a valve at the tank although I am not sure it will work; it is very stiff and I am hesitant to force it for fear of it breaking off. It actually seems to be rusted into place at the tank!
Regards,
Wayne ....

I can't recall if it will flow on its own there. If you have a rubber hose between the tank and pump then you can pinch it off. Spray the shut off at the tank with penetrating fluid and you should be able to work it slowly loose. Its always good to have this working. ....
