I have a John Deere 3481 front plow that I would like to bolt up to my GT 262. I have read online that it would be compatible with my tractor model if I added a lift kit (BM18977) and attaching brackets (BN19215). I am not sure on how to attach the plow frame assembly to the tractor frame. If this plow is too heavy for my tractor, should I get rid it and look for a 42" 2692? Thank you for any help.

Your tractor should use the model M03270X blade.

If you have never used a blade on a Garden Tractor before make sure you have chains.

One of the temptations with this set up is to ram the snow at speed to compensate for the lack of weight and traction with snow that is too deep for this size machine. I have done that for years and it does wonders for back pain. After 10 years of doing that I finally got a snowblower which is really is the best thing for at Garden Tractor, absolutely 10 times better than a blade.

Also to use a blade on a Garden Tractor you will be wanting a pretty flat place to use it. It can work on grades to some extent but you have to make many trips during a storm because too much snow depth tips the traction equation against you :(

Have fun!
