Anyone know of a good 24hpish engine that revs higher than the stock engine that will fit in the gator without any major modifications?

Thanks

If your Gator is an older model that you have no concern for there ever being any trade in value or resale value then find a big engine for it. Otherwise from the engine tru the belt system, the transaxle, even the drive axles and frame were never meant to handle more than the original engine produced. As you have gathered by now I'm trying to talk you out of spending a lot of money on a bigger engine that likely will destroy the rest of the Gator.
If your Gator is in reasonable shape why not take the money for the big engine and trade for a bigger Gator. It don't have to be a new one, there are probably lots of HPX and XUV four wheel drives around by now that would handle a blade lots better.
For what it's worth, just my thoughts. Frank. ....

Thats good thinking. What would this gator be worth? Its a 2001 very very nice shape, its not all beat to heck. Washed and waxed it looks like new. It has 2,300 hours in it. Bedliner, floor mat,bumper, hitch. ....

JD;
I don't keep up well enough on Gator prices to hazzard a guess. You've got quite a few hours, but I've heard of well over 5K hours on an original engine and tranny.
I'd check around with some Deere dealers who may have a used 4 X 4' on hand and go from there.
