Hi all

I'm looking at a NH TZ24DA with belly mower and bucket that was traded into the dealer at 575 Hrs. When they were prepping for resale they found cracks in the frame (around bolts) and on the bucket ears. Both problems have been repaired.

The machine was obviously not treated very well, appears to have been stored outside and has plently of cosmetic blemishes. However, I tried it at my place and it seems to run well with everything I could throw at it.

Question now is what's it REALLY worth? Dealer is asking 8750 for the package but that seems high to me for a tractor with such serious repairs and a questionable maintenace record. I know they're likely in the red on this one since the problem was found after trade in was completed. But... not looking to take on such a machine unless its a bargain. You just never know what other problems may appear.

So what are the thoughts out there - is this dealer asking too much or not?

Upstate;
I'm not familliar with that model tractor, maybe that is a problem common to that series, but I'd rather doubt it other wise it would have been brought to light here on TP long before now.
Again I'm not up on used tractor prices so I can't say what's a fair price, but I think in this case I'd start over looking at tractors that appear to be in better shape.
Being the outside and the mounting points show obvious abuse it's hard to tell what might be unseen on the inside that's ready to let go too.
Saving a bit on this one might prove to be a high priced service problem down the road. Frank. ....

Sounds like you're looking for someone to slap you upside the head. If not you should be. Run the other way. Fast. Any so-called "savings" now compared to. Comparable machine may be lost many times over on fixing those repairs.

My biggest question is why would you buy this with your eyes wide open? ....

As much as the larger ones have the chassis issues I've not run inot the TZ series with it or have I heard anything on it.
Best advice to you would be to stay away from it form the abuse.

That is unless you like to tinker and spend time fixing instead of getting what you wanted to do done! ....
