While driving my John Deere Gator 620I I was getting a 24 code. After turning the Gator off a few minute and restarting it the code stop flashing. Can anyone tell me what this code means or will John Deere help me with this without a hassel. Codes are not listed in the owners manual that I could find.

A 24 code is a Speed Sensor code. The ECU is not picking up a signal from the speed sensor. The sensor is in the transaxle, close to the starter, and on the starter hot wire side. Most tests on the sensor involve continuity. No continuity between either plug prong and the sensor body, no continuity between the magnetic end of the sensor and the sensor body and no continuity between the magnetic end and either plug prong. Make sure the end is magnetic. Transaxle has to be drained and sensor removed to do tests. ....

Thanks for the speedy reply. I have also contacted my John Deere dealer and he was kind enough to give me a list of all the codes that may showup. The dealer said this was not a big problem and not to worry about it. Do you agree?
My gator is under warranty but the dealer is 35 miles away. Should it be looked at? By the way I noticed you were from the historic state of Maryland. I spent 2 week in Emmitsburg about 2 years ago and enjoyed every minute of my stay there. ....

I would agree with your dealer that a speed sensor problem is not a high priority. Iam sure you will both remember that the problem exists the next time you take the Gator in. Since it's under warranty, they will probably just swap the sensor out. Yes, Emmittsburg is very nice with lots of Civil War history. Quiet town with clean air ....
