I have an AMT 626 Old model gator, I think a 1990 model.Engine # FE290D066524; It starts pretty good when cold by chocking it.When the engine gets hot it doesn't want to start. One small engine mechanic told me that the engine was shot. I have talked to others that says it isn't. It does not use any oil and runs good once started. Can anyone give me any advise as to what could be wrong?

Alphabet Soup, you sure didn't put much thought into that one. There is an ignitor on top of your motor, about one inch square, silver, that has a black wire going into it. There is an insulator under it that shields it from engine heat. Sometimes the insulator gets taken out or maybe it's been in there too long and is not working properly. Or possibly the ignitor is going bad. That's where I would look first. Make sure your spark plug is in tight also. ....
