this gator is a "Gator Turf" model W00TURF003256 4X2 The cabling harness has been "modified" by previous owner. I would just like to have the engine shut down when the key is turned to off position. ....

Because the previous owner did his own wiring job I don't know if I can help you or not. To shut your Gator off you have to ground the white wire coming out of the magneto run relay. That wire is the white wire that is in the plug that goes into the ignition switch.( at least it was when it was built) The black wire coming out of the ignition switch is the ground. When the switch is turned off it connects the black ground wire and the white wire internally and grounds the magneto run relay and shuts the motor off. So I would start with running a wire from the black wire coming out of the switch to ground and see if that works. If that doesn't do it you will have to see if the white wire coming out of the switch goes all the way to the run relay. The relay should have the white wire( actually 2 whites going into 1 connector), a purple and white, and 2 blacks jumpered to 1 more black. As I say, you have to ground the white wire to shut it off. ....
