Hi, Did you end up figuring out the wiring for the FE250? I just bought this engine and I'm building a buggy with it but I need to make sure I am doing it right. For some reason I am only able to start it once, and then the starter spins but does not engage. If I disconnect it again it will let me start once more and that's it. I am sure it's the wiring, since I only have one wire going in and there are three connection points. Also, what are the two green wires for? I figured that the black one is shut off, but can't figure the other two.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks ....

If you put power to the starter solenoid it pulls a contact package that completes the circuit between the 12v power source and the starter windings. The other end of the solenoid pulls a fork that engages the starter drive. If you are pulling the solenoid and the starter is just spinning, you aren't engaging the starter drive with the flywheel on the other end. Sounds mechanical to me. Fork, starter drive or something. The two green wires are the feed from the stator to the regulator. ....
