I have a question for you all. I own 10 acres, mostly fenced rolling pastures which I bush hog with my 1958 Massey 35. I also box grade my gravel drive and use my post hole digger at times. I sold the Massey and looking to purchase a Kubota compact tractor. I own at ZG23 Kubota zero turn mower and love it. I like the set up of the L3400 but the L3240 does have FST. I the past, I haven't had the need to shift on the fly. Anything else I should be considering between the two? I do like the independent PTO on the L3240, but I've lived so long with a live PTO - not sure what I'd do. Thanks for your imput.

I am not familiar with the L3240 but I have an L3400HST. I would reccomend the HST. I originally was going to get a gear unit but my dealer talked me into the HST and I am glad I did now. ....

the 3400 would be closest to what you have been driving but eh 3240 would be more deluxe of a tractor. Go drive one and check out the options as bith are nice in gear or hydro. ....

I purchased the L3240 HST, it is heavier than L3400. I'm glad I got the HST, no shifting and new feature to sync throttle with foot pedal for HST is great. ....
