Was working with FEL and all of a sudden heard a squalling belt, shut it down and found slipping around gen/alt pully, tightened slightly, still slipped, loosened belt, and gen pully would not turn by hand, pulled fan and gen assembly, yes it is possible to get the nuts off without taking the head off, found the rubber grommet where the wire enters the gen had disappeared, dirt dobber or dust sucked into gen through the hole gummed up and froze the two bearings, got em ordered, and sealed the hole with rubber sealant, putting her back together tonight.

Earthworks,

back together working fine, sorry if I bored you...:)

I guess the moral of the story was even a small rubber grommet dry rotting can cause problems... ....
