Looking at massey GC2300 and like all the features. But I read on internet, it does not have a float position for 3pt hitch. Is this true of most subcompacts? Would this make it a pain for using a box blade, or tiller, or posthole digger?

The only tractors that have a "Float" position are the small sub compacts and some of the lower end models that do not have "Position Control" and only have a two position lever. ....

I am not aware of any sub-compacts or compacts that don't have a floating 3-point. Even the Sub Compact I used to have was set up with a floating 3-point. The "floating" description refers to the implement following the terrain, with "no-down" pressure. Until you get into 3-points with draft control, they all are floating hitches, even though the floating term does not refer to a hydraulic circuit.
You may want to check the article again and make sure they were talking about the 3-point, and if so, what exactly they meant. Could be the 3-point didn't have position control. ....

If you don't have down pressure, then you have float! Three point hitches have pressure only one way and that is up! ....
