i have a 2000 new holland 555E backhoe, can't find my book one of my warning lights have come on and i need to find out what it means.

I'd sure ask a dealer before operating it. Generally, you can measure the current with a VOM to double-check the alternator light. Most times an over-heated diesel will smoke black. Low oil pressure is another story and really something you want to know about. ....
